The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man Reboot Costume Part 4 - "What's that in his eye??" edition

I like it for its faithfulness to the source material without looking like that cosplay costume up a few posts. :D

i prefer spider-man a bit skinnier than he was in those films, he looked very blocky and by extension the suit did too.

i would like to see what that suit looked like on a smaller build tbh, just to see if it worked as well.

I love the webbing design but didn't like that it was 3D, i think that is the only change i would have made to it. That and would have liked the mouth to move a bit more when he was talking as spider-man, it really killed alot of Spider-Mans dialogue that it didn't look like he was saying the words we were hearing, the jaw moving would have went along we to make up for that.

I think I would merge the texture of this suit with a design more like the comics to make a Spider-Man that looks the comics without looking just like Acheson's Spider-Man.

I need to find that picture I had up, it was from this really cool photoshoot with Tobey.

They're all saved on my old computer. >.<

The Raimi suit is pretty good except for the colors.

Raimi suit + Webb suit colors = teh secks
That and maybe black webs.

Keep texture from Webb suit.

Keep colours from Webb suit.

Keep (consistant) web design from Raimi suit, along with the basic layout (including the belt).

Keep how the symbol... urm, meshs(???) in with the webbing like it does in the Webb suit aaaand... I think you'd have a pretty cool looking suit.

Same here. That awesome photoshoot was actually from Entertainment Weekly, if I remember correctly.

Really? Sweet!

I hope they get some stuff from The Avengers too, like they did for this.

Fingers crossed. :D

I agree. I'd love to see a picture of that.

I can't believe people are actually complaining that the suit isn't the classic comic book design. Can you imagine this in a summer blockbuster?

OMG it looks like so teh real life! I can totally believe that it's real :wow:

:whatever: :o

I love how cartoony a direct translation of the suit would look. :hehe:

And the Raimi suit is the one that doesn't look realistic. xD

Perfect as a straight comic to movie translation. I think Webb's suit brings Spider-Man (and his costume) into our world perfectly.

Except that if you're doing Spider-man you should put spiderwebs on the suit. I mean, at least.

Don't know about you guys, but to me the suit design looks like it's meant to look very cool especially in motion. So basicly I think that the parkour stuff and other acrobatic motion and all that will compliment the design very well

I'll admit, I haven't seen in motion, and certainly not the kind of motion that Spider-Man does. That said, I didn't think the previous suits looked bad when Spider-Man was moving at high speeds, so I don't understand the need for the big changes from the comics.

There's quite a few reasons why.

1. It's completely different to Raimi's suit.

2. It looks cool, yes...that sounds superficial and subjective, but it does look cool to me and most likely will to a very large part of the audience.

3. For teh realism. Sure, you could argue that this suit looks "professional" but things like leaving the shoes of the suit visible and other things seem like something somebody in Peter's position who needed a decent suit ASAP would do.

As the suit will get damaged to a great extent by the end of the movie, I'm almost positive that Peter will have a more "classic" looking suit with (at the very least) a goddamn belt.

How goddamn cool would it be if the final swing (or something similar) in this movie involved Peter with a slightly updated suit?

It's as I've said before. If this suit had utilized the traditional design, it'd be my favorite superhero costume ever made. I'll hold out hope for it in the sequel, I guess.

Maybe it's because I just love the Spider-Man costume, and I'm therefore biased, but I don't understand why they felt the need to make these changes. Given the fabrics, colors, and texturing that they've used here, it could have used the classic design and still looked different from the Raimi suits. Hell, it would've looked better.

And Troy, I'm going to have to disagree with you on this suit looking cool. The yellow eyes clash with the red, the lack of a "belt" makes it look like he has a giant male reproductive organ going down his body, the silver shoes are an eyesore, and the red stripes going down his legs are incredibly jarring and clash with the overall flow of the design.

But that doesn't really explain why they had to depart from the comic book version's blueprint. Use a different texture, black webbing, different eyes, and/or different spider symbols will make for a costume that looks like the classic Spider-Man, but won't be confused with the James Acheson designs.

It looks bad to me. Like they're trying to fix something that isn't broken.

This argument is total ********. This suit looks just as expensively made as the suits in the Raimi films. Also, traditionally, Peter doesn't have very thick soles on the costume's feet, because he wouldn't be able to adhere to a surface through normal shoes. For example, he had to carry his shoes to his wedding to Mary Jane in Amazing Spider-Man Annual #21 for precisely this reason.

As the suit will get damaged to a great extent by the end of the movie, I'm almost positive that Peter will have a more "classic" looking suit with (at the very least) a goddamn belt.

Hopefully.
