The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man Reboot Costume Part 4 - "What's that in his eye??" - Part 6

I'd keep the colors & material along with the lenses and yellow tint but would go back to the Ditko design when it comes to the belt and the top back portion of the design. I'd also get rid of all the useless line kibble.

The asics would be scrapped for a unison boot design like the picture I posted above (the same goes for the gloves). The webbing pattern would actually look like webs and I'd get rid of the grid pattern but keep the black color of it. The webshooters mechanism I like so I'd keep that as well.

Make the Spider emblem in both the front and back smaller. With those changes we'd probably have a damn great Spider-Man costume.
I just have to say, it's really funny reading anything you post that isn't a total agreement with something, while looking at that "thumbs-up avatar".

My main complaint is the the torso red doesnt connect to a belt. the way it is now just looks like an arrow pointing to his crotch
Nah. The classic design makes it look like an arrow pointing to the crotch.

The Webb design makes it look like an actual crotch.

The only real problem I have with the Raimi suit was the goddamn muscle padding. They went way overboard with it. Tobey's build was fine. There was no reason to uses as much padding as the did.

Many times, the muscle padding just made Tobey look fat.

Tobey's build was getting fat by the day, not the muscle padding.

I honestly believe toby only had that build for the first movie, they never show him shirtless in 2 or 3. So it wouldnt have looked as good without some padding.

Also no matter how built you are the spandex just smoothes over the muscles. You need the shaped padding to give you that comicbook character look.

Although the new Superman is ripped as hell and seems to show through his costume, not sure if they used padding

It's the type and location of the the stitching in the costume as well as the classic costume cheats.

I really like the costume more than ever. Still don't like the red stripe down the legs. Fr me, what I've seen, looks tacked on. But everything else looks right. I really like the blue in the gloves. Somehow, it just looks sleeker.

I think garfield would actually look pretty great in the raimy costume. His frame in that costume would imo look a lot better than the current costume.

I changed my mind about not wanting the costume looking this way in sequels, let it stay

All I say to change it is to remove the red strips down the legs. They still don't look right IMO.

I've gotten used to it, but still hope that it will change in the sequel to the classic design. Still using the same material and textures of course.

Nah, I wouldn't take the raimi costume again, change the fabric so you can in print/burn the weblines on it, and have the new eyeframes, the new gloves and overall make the belt area look a little more dynamic, then it would be cool

But, I still love the current costume so I don't really need any changes. Until the sequel at least, if he goes to college in the next movie, and in this movie the design portays what a teen ager would design, then the sequel should show how much he has matured with the costume, and something close to the classic design would be perfect for that

But yeah, I enjoy the new costume for now

I really want to see a new costume in the sequel (or at the end of this one) with the design of the WoS suit. That suit with the eyes of the current suit with perhaps a smaller back spider would look great.

Much as I like the costume design, I hate to be reminded of that abomination

You're not going to be seeing a suit that looks as classic as this, imo. I mean, it would be just foolish for Webb to have this new look of the red and blues and to just re-do it all in the sequel just because the fans want it. That's what killed Spider-Man 3 with the fans wanting a certain villain and Avi pushing for it.

Besides, the new suit fits into the entire atmosphere with the reboot; a classic suit wouldn't, imo.

A suit change would not kill the Movie. That's just a crazy comparison. The current suit already looks close enough to the classic suit. All you do are minor detail changes, like adding the line around the waist and removing the ones on the legs. Getting rid of the blue on the gloves and make the feet not look like sneakers. That's it.

The belt is a minor change because it's just an additional piece, but taking away the leg stripes, changing the "boots" and the gloves can be viewed as major since those were the major designs that were altered from a classic look.

I don't see why Peter would change his suit for a sequel. Minor changes literally come under things like tweaking the colour and maybe resizing the front and back symbol slightly, that's it.

Removing the shoes, stripe, etc all come under major changes. They are not minor.

Actual spider-webs on the Spider-man suit wouldn't hurt either.
