The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man Reboot Costume Part 4 - "What's that in his eye??" - Part 6

Really, you don't see why? Like this is his first and only suit, made on a modest budget. It gets torn to shreds while fighting the Lizard. When he works on a new one, he might have different ideas in his head. It's not far fetched. The Mini Series "With Great Power" has him donning a costume that looks similar to what Webb and Co. came up with. But at the end, he wears the costume that every Spider Fan knows.

I liek the suit but I think there should be (and there inevitably will be) changes in the sequel.

It's not his first suit. His vigilante getup is his first suit. The Spider-Man one is his "final" look... y'know, the "professional one" and Webb's Spider-Man's "classic" red and blue suit. It makes no sense as to why he would change it. Peter didn't in the previous trilogy after it got shredded, so why would he here?

Either way, I hope they keep the costume the same in sequels.

Alright, if that's how you wanna do it, then I'm calling Peter's sweatshirt and fishnet mask getup, his first suit too.

Uhm... because we already go the suit that everyone knew and wanted? Yeah, I think it's that.

Actually, the suit did have minor changes in the previous series. Considering that the current suit is already so close to the other one, I pretty sure making it just that much closer to the classic suit will still feel minor as far as changes go.

...What?

As the wrestling costume was his first suit in Raimi's Spider-Man... before he got his classic suit, his vigilante getup in this basically is his first suit before he gets his proper final costume.

Not everybody liked that suit. People hated (and still do) the raised webbing and yet they kept it for all 3 movies.

Peter should not change his suit unless it actually serves the story. He's Peter Parker, not Gok Wan.

Yeah... no. Still minor.

Those changes are what really got under people's skin...no minor changes would do that.

I don't see why Peter would change his suit for a sequel. Minor changes literally come under things like tweaking the colour and maybe resizing the front and back symbol slightly, that's it.

Removing the shoes, stripe, etc all come under major changes. They are not minor.

If you remove the side stripes you might as well change the other nitpick areas too

What other nitpicks? For me, the rest of the costume is ace. Is was only the strips down the legs that don't seem right. But, if they are never removed them, I'd be fine with that

How about this?

- Remove the leg stripes.
- Make the red chest piece come to a point instead of a rounded end.
- Extend the belt so that it comes around the front of the suit and almost connects with the red chest piece.

YES! Plus...

-Add more webbing to the suit (grid lines or not, there's just too many damn plain parts)
-Remove the shoes (or at least make them black)
-Make the distribution of red-n-blue on the hands MAKE FREAKING SENSE!!!

Then I'm 100% sold on the suit.

Giving the chest piece a pointed end would really make it look like an arrow pointing to his dong. lol

I'd rather have that than a rounded-off end that makes the front of the suit look unfinished. It just sort of trails off into nothing.

And I'm happy with what we have. Maybe if the half belt extended further then the pointed edge would work.

Kinda like this.

That's very close to what I'm picturing. Thanks .

2 reasons why I'm sure that the suit will be changed for the sequel:

- it's a "trend"
- They have probably noticed how unpopular the current suit is so they will want to make it better

I wouldn't say the new suit is unpopular - certainly not amongst the general audience. Outside of select Spider-Man fans, you're not going to hear people complaining about the redesigned suit as they walk out of the theater.

If the suit changes in the sequel, it will only be because A) the director wants to, or B) Sony wants to sell more toys.

I haven't heard any complaints outside of the internet about the suit. I doubt they're going to change it (well, I doubt they'll change it drastically). If they give in to whiny fans on the internet I will be pretty disappointed.

There are members of the general audience who won't even notice the suit is different. I showed one of my sisters a side-by-side of the Raimi and Webb suits and the first thing she said to me was, "They look the same." I pointed out the differences to her and all she said was, "Oh." It was a very I-couldn't-care-less type of Oh.

I'm wasn't talking about just your opinion, I was talking about most people's opinions. Here's the nitpicks I have come across:
- legstripes/"no belt"
- straight grid type lines instead of webbing lines
- black/yellow eyes
- shoes
- broken up red&blue gloves
- thin back spider

while they wont probably remove everyone of these aspects, they certainly wouldn't just change a tiny thing like remove legstripes.

I like this suit.

Well, except for that looks really black instead of blue, lol.

- it's a "trend"

What trend? We rarely see a suit being changed except for Batman.

- They have probably noticed how unpopular the current suit is so they will want to make it better

That would be the lamest reasoning to change up the suit/design. The reboot was an unpopular opinion for the longest, but we still received it. Do you know how many things would've turned out badly if all the fans were listened to?

Didn't mean to come across defensive, it was a genuine question :yay:. The belt is the other thing for me, yeah, but it's those strips on the legs thats my biggest issue. I actually have come to love the broke pn red/blue on the gloves. Bar the red belt and strips, I really like the costume.

Iron-man (in IM2 and The Avengers), TDK, Thor (in The Avengers), Captain America (in The Avengers)
And even though Spidey costume wasn't really changed almost at all in SM2, they still changed the back&front spiders, and we're talking about the so called "perfect spidey costume adaptation"
Trust me, the suit will change

The decisions to make a reboot or changing the suit aren't on the same level at all, can't be compared. And how is it a lame reason? It would really help the sequel if they made a costume that everyone is fine with, believe it or not.
Ghost Rider seemed to reboot it's style in the sequel because almost nobody liked the first one. Popularity matters. It's not like TASM is made by an indie film studio that doesn't give a ****

Tony has different armour like in every issue in the comics. :funny:

But seriously, the armour changes were there to serve the story. Same goes for TDK.

Thor?

The costume changes are minor. I didn't even know Thor's costume was different in the Avengers until it was pointed out. It's similar to the tweaks the designers did to the suit for Raimi's Spider-Man over the trilogy.

Captain America's costume again, is for the story. His suit from the 1940's (??) isn't going to be suited for a modern environment. Visually or practicality-wise.
