The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man Reboot Costume Part 4 - "What's that in his eye??" - Part 6

This opinion based on what exactly?
Based on the fact that everyone I've talked to either doesn't care or didn't notice.

I want the classic design back, but I stand by what I said. I sincerely doubt the average joe is going to complain about the new suit.

The average joe will definitely not notice that the black doesn't make actual webs, that's for damn sure. If anything, I bet the average person will question the boots area and how it looks like he's wearing track shoes than anything else on the suit.

Agreed.

Agreed.

I want the classic suit back but I won't and I think many others won't complain about it for this film.

indeed. and everyone of my friends that have noticed the changes haven't complained about them, and actually said they liked it.

Many people that judge the suit judge it because it isn't spider-man for them.
And I understand why they feel that way, a completely new adaptation with more of a parkour costume than superhero tights. But Spider-man will be doing modern parkour in this movie and the costume does look like what a modern teenager would design, so imo it fits perfectly. I think that once we see that kind of action more, the suit haters may start to think otherwise about the suit.

Well, there will always be haters, but less of course

I think my bro who is not big into Spider-Man will notice, he loves the costume design in Spider-Friends cartoon

when i first saw this suit design especially in those spy camera shots...i hated it.. but now that ive seen better footage of it..i feel it wasnt as bad as i initially thought.... i to still prefer the original design... but the color of that blue is gorgeous and the red looks really good... the blue is far better then what was used in the raimi movies ... i never disliked the texture as some say they hate it...that never really bothered me... i think the only thing i dont like is the eyes and thats about it

The texture and the colors are not the problem really. They both look very good in the trailer.

To a certain extent you are right, but then this theory goes out the window when you consider how many Superman fans seem to love the new suit for MOS. Explain that. I think fans are willing to accept change if it's done with purpose as well as looks. If you can't prove you can do better than the original and you're just changing it for the sake of change then it automatically becomes a failure in many people's eyes, especially when the suit is so much a part of the character. Moreover, the suit has barely been altered since it's inception.

All we've seen are really quick shots in dark scenes.

The lighting can make a big difference. :yay:

I do like the gloves. Somehow, that break up just looks good. I wasnt sure at first, but the gloves are a nice change IMO.

BUT, still want a 'belt' and no stripe lol. But overall, I like the suit.

Not really.

But hey, guess some people just can't accept change.

I wouldn't say superior nor would I say superior.

Nor would I say crappy.

It's just a change that makes it fit into this new series and as I would like a "belt", the suit works.

It's not real crap that brings me to mind of something with nipples...

It's difficult sometimes to accept change from a tradition, especially when, in this case, the tradition has been around for such a long time. Classic Spidey is something that pretty much everyone knows, even people that don't follow his mythos. Admittedly, I thought the new suit was crap when I first laid eyes on it about a year ago when the first still was released. But over time it has grown on me. There are things I would change about it but like I've said before, I try to take in the positives about the suit. In the new trailer it looked far better than what I would have thought. The colors and the texture of the suit are fantastic. I think more people will come to like the suit as time goes by and they get a chance to really see the suit flesh out in the movie.

True dat.

**** me....did I really say superior twice?

Superior nor would I say inferior*

There.

I know, but the thing is... I really don't see this suit as such a great departure from the classic design as it's made out to be.

But yeah, I agree. I think more people will like it once they see it in the movie itself. :)

I agree. He is still recognizeable as Spider-man. I think the majority of people who are not comic book fans don't really even care about the suit. For instance, not one of my family members nor friends made a single comment about the suit during or after watching the trailers.

Nice costume, some say the Lizard can be seen in the left eye

same reaction. But when (after showing the trailer) I said to my friend that so many people on internet are complaining about the new costume, he was like "Why?? The new suit is way cooler! More dynamic and streamlined, going for a parkour style, I love it!

Currently I don't honestly see why people are complaining about the costume. The major hate came from the set pics, but after the second trailer was shown, only the people that hated the very first photo of the costume hates it now (not all but most)

The grid type "webbing" looks great, the lack of belt makes it look a little more slim and dynamic with Andrew's body type, the leg stripes & the gloves add a parkour flavor to it and so on. Now I know, the grid "webbing" isn't spider-like at all and that's what annoys many people about it. But in this movie they thought that the webbign pattern doesn't need to be one of the things that address that he is a SPIDER-man, and they just made it gridlines so it supports their streamlined vision of the suit

and the eyes, well, there's nothing I can say on that but: who gives a crap...

The average joe will definitely not notice that the black doesn't make actual webs, that's for damn sure. If anything, I bet the average person will question the boots area and how it looks like he's wearing track shoes than anything else on the suit.

The complaint about the web pattern is still the most ridiculous and over the top thing I've ever encountered on this board. It seems like a parody of comic book fans. I still can't wrap my head around it; "They need to put webs on his suit!" "They did..." "Those aren't webs, that's just a grid." Seriously?

Plus making that web design where there are tons of small, very curved lines seems a lot harder to make than the grid design which looks like a couple of large curved lines that stretch over the entire chest area.
