Star Trek Into Darkness - Part 4

Having finally gotten to finish Countdown to Darkness I must say this comic tie in seems completely pointless. While the Countdown comic for the first film gave Nero's backstory, this comic seems like it will have almost no bearing on this new film.

Sorry about that. I should've warned; it just didn't cross my mind. Funny how it has a potential spoiler despite being released directly from Paramount.

Carol Marcus. She was originally in Wrath of Khan. She and Kirk had a relationship which resulted in a child who grew up not knowing Kirk was his father.
Thanks! Interesting read. Might check out backgrounds for other characters.

I really need to watch WoK again, was a kid when I saw it.

If the timeline diverged when Nero went back in time, then why does [BLACKOUT]Khan[/BLACKOUT] look and sound completely different when [BLACKOUT]he and his crew aboard the Botany Bay were put into cryostasis[/BLACKOUT] well before that happened?

Wow. Chris Pine didn't deliver in this scene. At all. It seems forced. He's trying to act too hard. Ishhh.

I disagree...but i get where your're coming from.

I think Pine did fine but with Benedict there, he looked like a lightweight whereas Benedict's effortlessly compelling. Pine looked a bit awkward.

You're maybe right. I've watched it again and it still bothering me tho. Anyway, Cumberbatch did very well. His voice, just wow. I could feel my desktop vibrate while he was speaking.

I feel like its more like artistic license than anything else at this point..

Goofy bit from that Empire review

Abrams’ first voyage on the USS Enterprise rescued the franchise from its increasingly niche fan base, the kind of people who endlessly debate Sisko versus Janeway (answer: Picard), and made it cool for everyone.

Rescuring from fanbase Isn't going to impress fan base.

Every real Trekker knows there Is only one real Captain. That Is Kirk.

I have to admit, but if the recent rumors are true:

It makes me disappointed that they weren't able to get Benicio del Toro. I'm sure Cumberbatch is going to deliver a great performance, but del Toro just has such a Moltaban-esque vibe to him.

About that clip, I honestly think Paramount is misleading all of us when referencing [blackout]the number 72[/blackout]. I highly doubt a clip released by the studio prior to release would drop a bomb like that. Pure misdirection.
