Star Trek Sequel - Part 1

I'm leaning towards liking it. I like the play on words with the title.

We're star trekking into darkness. It's winning me over. It's different to the usual titles with colons. I applaud Abrams and co for doing something different with trek.

Makes me wonder now what they can do with the next trek title.

Here's hoping for another top trek flick :yay:

Nobody is going to go the theatre and ask for a ticket to Star Trek Into Darkness. They'll ask for tickets to Star Trek. The title is interesting and definitely feels in scope with the franchise, but I couldn't say it out loud.

Well, people are going to call it Star Trek or Star Trek 2 no matter what the full title is anyway. I don't know that I heard anybody buy tickets for The Dark Knight Rises, but I heard a lot of "Dark Knight." There's always a shorthand, whether there needs to be or not.

I said "Batman"

Yeah, most people just called it Batman. And in the UK, even though it was Avengers Assembled, anyone who knew just asked for The Avengers at the ticket office. I've always asked for Star Trek, no matter which film it has been. No-one's going to say "oh, the 2009 film isn't in theatres anymore!"

BTW they could've called it "Star Trek The Dark World" and called Thor 2 "Thor Into Darkness" :woot:

The guy who wrote Latino-Review's article on the title insinuates that the film itself is going to be a piece of ****.:down

Ya....I doubt that lol.

I'm not blown away by the title, but it's not bad. Interesting play on words, but a tad awkward. Oh well more Trek is always good to me.

Though the title does suggest either exploring a very unknown part of the galaxy (which is what Trek is best at) or possibly the Mirror universe?

Star Trek Too

:o

I'm just amazed how little of this film has "leaked" during filming. Not many set photos, though most of it is sets I'm sure. The only ones I remember is Spock fighting Cumberbatch's character.

I remember someone on here was discussing with me that the background's architecture looks similar to Cardassians design...but I think that was after TOS, more towards TNG when the occupation occurred, though I think first contact with Starfleet and the Cardassians was somewhere in the mid 22 century....so I dunno.

Not that I really care about titles but...I sorta hate it. It sounds like some made for tv B Scifi-Horror movie.

When you consider that alot of the stuff is shot in soundstages it actually make sense. It´s very rare these days that you get to see leaked stuff when some big budget blockbuster shoots in soundstages. It´s different when they´re shootin in the open a la the dark knight rises.

Getting more and more used to the title, played around a little and it looks quite good on the poster

I wonder if Pine is going to do the famous "Space the final frontier" speech?

I can see the 'STAR TREK' part of the title going above the 'Into Darkness' part, and maybe slightly bigger too (Star Trek that is).

Ya...lol if you look at my sentence after the one you put in bold, that's why I figured we got so little. ;)

But not even unofficially, I remember with ST09 there was more official stuff that was released. But oh well I'm sure soon we will get floods of stuff.

Yeah I thought about that, but if done that way it would imply a colon or hyphen between the two separate groups of words. Writing it all on one line eliminates this problem :yay:
