Star Trek Sequel - Part 1

They need a name for this movie as well. We can't keep calling it "Star Trek sequel". If they know the plot already, they must have a name in mind.

If they had thought it through before, they should've called Star Trek V "The Undiscovered Country" and VI "The Final Frontier." That might've had a better ring to it and would've looked more appropriate. With ST V, the centre of the universe where they travelled could easily have been the Undiscovered Country (instead of referring to the future, or death in its original Shakespearean context). Incidentally, weren't they going to call Star Trek II The Undiscovered Country at one point?

With ST VI, not only was it the last original cast film, but also it could've been seen as the last barrier to come down between humans and klingons, so The Final Frontier would've been fitting.

Yeah Nicolas Meyers was really fond of The Undiscovered Country as a title. I believe its from Hamlet and its referring to death, which of course facing death is a major theme in Star Trek II so it would have been fitting.

Until they release the official title for the sequel, I'm just going to call it Star Trek 2: Electric Boogaloo. :hehe:

Anyone else think it's weird that this has started shooting and they haven't put out the usual press release with an extremely vague plot description, cast and key crew member list?
JJ likes to play things close to his chest...

^Brilliant!

How about just Star Trek 2? I mean they just went with Star Trek the first time and nobody seemed to mind.

And Star Trek 2 would be the first movie to simply be named Star Trek 2.

Star Trek 2 Furious

Had no idea shooting had started. Sounds like a 2013 release? Yay!

I'm annoyed I have to wait that long, it should have been coming out this year.

Well people refer to "The Wrath of Khan" as "Star Trek 2", so it would get confusing. They don't just refer to "The Motion Picture" as "Star Trek" though.

And it would be unnatural to jump from Star Trek to Star Trek 12.

Star Trek: Judgement Day

Star Trek: The Lord's Rings

Star Trek Lives

Star Trek: The War of the Clones

Since Paramount doesn't really use numbers for their sequels anymore e.g Ghost Protocol, Dark of the Moon, Retaliation, the next Star Trek will have a sub-title like First Contact and Nemesis.

The sequel has been filming for over a month, and still no leaked photos. Don't know how JJ does it....

Star Trek Part Deux

Star Trek II: That Means 2, Not 11

Star Trek II: But it's okay because this one is in an alternate reality and isn't TWOK
Star Trek 10: If you're a binary fan you'll understand
Star Trek 2: The search for a proper engineering section

That's it. I'm tapped out now...
