TFA people love and it got people to trust star wars again after the really bad PT. On the other hand TLJ made people hate star wars again. I dont buy that most people dont mind spoliers i think if you read spoilers you are in the very small minority on that one. The movie will make a billion.

Its not a guarantee it will make a billion. (though it should) The numbers internationally were down most places according to tracking on BOF. It is getting no help from China either. It will do fine stateside.

If it has legs (and there is no proof of that yet) it will be due more to the holidays than to the quality of the film. Even as someone that likes it I expect it will fall off a steep cliff after the holidays.

Monday's results are certainly pointing to what I had mentioned earlier about the last weekend before Christmas holding people back from theaters. With trends certainly pointing towards ground being made up for what it didn't get opening weekend, I think our next focus is on its sophomore weekend. Early estimates place it at $100 million which I think is incredibly generous, given allot of people will be catching this film through Christmas. I think a minimum of a 55% plus drop is almost a certainty in the cards.We also have to watch the trends overseas as well. The billion dollar mark remains on the table as previously stated. But until we get out of next weekend, I don't think we have a guaranteed trajectory to that goal. There's been allot of knee jerk reactions to the highs and lows of daily tallies, but films like this have to devour big numbers early to reach that kind of figure. The sophomore weekend will tell us plenty about the appetite for this installment.

It was already released in the Philippines for like 3 days and will return in January after the country's local cinema festival ended.

Yup, very good. Early read on Tuesday from BOT is 20-21, which would be a better hold than DoS back in 2013. So it should be something like 226 going into Christmas Day, and Wed thru Sat should all be in the low to mid 30s at least. Ought to be somewhere in the 380 neighborhood after next weekend. Maybe more, could touch 400 if Xmas week is kind.

Its not gonna make more than TLJ looking at the international numbers. The only milestone this movie needs to hit is a billion now. Hopefully the domestic numbers continue being strong for this weekend.

I doubt it will beat TLJ but you never know. I do feel good about it passing Rogue One.

Early Christmas Day estimate at BOT is 33, which again is a jump versus Tuesday about on par with DoS in 2013. DoS also rose Thursday and if RoS imitates that it would get close to 40. Personally I’ll take anything north of 30.

Nah I would rather watch The Mandalorian season 1 x 100 or even the prequel trilogy over ROS
