Deadline, whose numbers are usually optimistic, has it at 35 for Christmas Day. Even if it comes down a bit it will still be the second best Christmas Day ever behind TFA.

Too early to tell, but I think we're seeing possible signs of legs here. The Christmas Eve and Day numbers are definitely a welcome development if you're Disney.

You cant trust the legs (or think it means anything for WOM) because this is all expected numbers for the Holidays. If the drop is less than expected then that is another story...but even that isnt fully true. Right now it is doing what it was expected to do pattern-wise, still low money-wise though.

And Deadline has showed it has no clue about how to do actual tracking. The amount they have been wrong ALREADY over this film proves that.

I would guess (based on nothing cause math is not fun ) it comes in below Rogue One...slightly. Di$ney will spin it of course make it sound better than it is but in truth there is no way to say it is anything but underperforming and rather disappointing. Di$ney is making their money but good lord what a waste of potential since they bought Star Wars.

BOT estimating 30 for today. Solid but not spectacular. FWIW my mid afternoon show today was about 60% full and I picked the one with the most seats left a couple hours before that (was maybe 30-40% then). So hopefully we get a bit more.

I saw this Thursday, Friday and Saturday on opening weekend. Glad to see it’s not the flop people are trying to make it out to be.

Heard at the same point in time in its run that LJT internatioaly was about 15% higher. Now maybe it will have better legs then TLJ but if it were to end at 15% less it would end OS at like 605504731. Then if it does 500 million USA that would mean it would finish at 1105504731 so i think a billion is safe. If it needs at that number it would finish just a little under 50 million above R1 49447458 above it.

Should hit 600 WW today also impressive tjat threw sunday they have it at about 380 USA and that would put it about 3% ahead of TLJ in its first 10 days. Now i know that this movie had the holiday week sooner in its release but would still be impressive to be 3% ahead after weekend 3 consider after weekend 1 it was around 43 million behind. Should hit 800 million by around monday.

Yeah and it will be interesting to see were it is after weekend 3 has it will have had back to back holiday weeks and kids will be going back to school after weekend 3. So after weekend 3 it will not have much left in the tank most likely.

Tbh, it's a good looking big budget Sci-Fi rump. I never expected it to bomb, frankly speaking.

It was never going to bomb...but it is definitely a miscalculation. Di$ney honestly has missed almost completely since they took over. They are going to need a long break to get the stink off.

Its not even that but all it takes is one good movie to win people back. TFA most people loved and if TLJ and TROSW were even considered close to has good has TFA they would have made a lot more money. People were pretty againts batman before begings and even though it wasnt a crazy boxoffice sucess its a big reason dark Knight went on to explode.

I dont think so. The brand is in decline right now. Saturating the market was a bad play anyways and continuing to do so will only make it worse. Adding a name to the marquee wont be enough especially internationally. Stick to small projects and in 5 years see where you are at. Star Wars is no longer "special" it is just another blockbuster series.

BTW some on BOT are looking at some bad drops this weekend for TROS. At the rate it is dropping it will finish well behind TLJ overall. (which annoys me as I like this film and loathe TLJ) I have to agree with a few of them that this is because the hardcore fans arent going back for multiple viewings at the rate SW is accustomed too.
