How did he not expect his penguins to die? He even tells them when he sends them off that many of them won't be coming back. He knew he was sending them to be basically suicide bombers.
Penguin: "MY BABIES"

:funny: **** hit the fan

Aziz continues to demonstrate he payed no attention. And frankly speaking, Batman is just as much fantasy and blithering nonsense as TMNT. The whole "serious" argument is blithering nonsense too, since we have 60s Batman and many absurd Batman stories within comics.
Read the bold part in my post again, carefully this time.

Over the top nonsense with quality storytelling surrounding it:

Supposed to be taken more seriously, and surrounded by "What Just Happened?" storytelling

Don't bring Batman Returns again if you can't answer my question about another movie.

Thank you very much.

Batman Returns is supposed to be taken seriously? Since when?

I don't think "stalking" crossed any border to consider Bickle dangerous or suspicious. He approached her in the open in the end, invited her to a dinner. But even if it did, girls date thugs all the time. Attraction works that way.

MORE seriously COMPARED TO.

I keep writing these words in bold so you don't miss them, but it seems you are intentionally overlooking them, therefore....

You keep writing it in bold and large text, doesn't mean it makes sense. Even in comparison to TMNT, I don't see how it's supposed to be taken more seriously. TMNT also has a bunch of different tones, darker take (with misery and violence) in the original comics and in the first live action film vs. more light-hearted animated series. So, nope.

The bold is to point out what you were intentionally glossing over instead of generalizing the way most people tend to do for some odd reason.

Different tones don't change the quality of storytelling and structuring, which is what I'm talking about. So yeah.

Travis has been stalking her for weeks before finally approaching her, and in their first date he awkwardly speaks ill of someone she's known and worked with for a while but she decided to go out with him more times.
Poor choices happening in real life won't stop me from asking why a character in a movie made a bad move, more particularly when it is a person who gives the impression of being rather intelligent and elegant.

Did you ask the same about Ginger in Casino?

The fact that he was watching her for weeks doesn't mean anything. There are plenty of boys that watch girls in their class without mustering up enough courage to approach them. She noticed him only once, soon after he decided to ask her out. We see that there's a spark between them. He's insightful and looks like has his own opinion, appears to be confident and someone worth exploring. I don't see anything bizarre or lacking logic about that.

  1. I did not watch Casino, therefore I don't make a comment on it.
  2. Hype's definition of stalker applies to Travis, I did not make things up. Did you not pay attention to how stalker has been defined on these boards (and in large parts of the internet as well)? Travis falls under that.

Here's an example on who I is called a stalker on these boards:
Prequels Darth Vader, who was assigned as a bodyguard to his girlfriend, is considered a stalker on these boards even though he was only watching Pademe when he was assigned to do that.

Travis (although he did not bring harm or fear to the girl that chose he's unfit after 1 unpleasant movie experience as his company (I looked up the legal definition just now to make sure whether the actual term applies to him)) did what is considered on these boards to be stalking, he falls under the incomplete definition I've been reading here for years.

Travis Bickle is unquestionably a stalker, and all-around mentally unstable individual.
Doesn't mean his attention is unwanted. Betsy isn't intimidated or harassed by him at that point.

I enjoy tyrese Gibson. While not great I haven't seen him give a terrible performance.

I personally have zero interest in seeing Endgame. MCU's just gotten stale, imo and I wasn't a huge fan of Infinity War either. (Loved Josh Brolin's performance though)

I applaud your bravery.:applaud :applaud :applaud

Personally I can't wait to see it, but I can understand if some folks are feeling MCU fatigue.

Yeah, this will probably be the last time I re-watch the whole MCU in advance of the newest Avengers release.

I don't understand why people were doing marathons last year when we knew that there was going to be an A4. I guess it's because they marketed IW as kind of an "ending" too.

I did it last year because around this time a year ago I was working freelance so I had a whole lot more free time to do an MCU marathon. Now I'm working full time and have been pretty busy on top of that so even though I wanted to have another marathon, I've only had time to watch about half of them (Iron Man, Captain America: TFA, Avengers, TWS, GOTG 1 & 2, AOU, Civil War, Thor: Ragnarok and Infinity War) over the past couple of weeks to prep for Endgame. But as it is, I'd much rather wait until around the holidays when I own Endgame for a full MCU marathon.

Even reading about people marathoning MCU bores the living **** out of me. I hope I won't have to watch MCU in the next 10 years at least.

What do you mean by this? You don't want to be hyped? Like... you'd feel slighted if there is a future trailer of an MCU film that looks good to you?
I don't want a future MCU trailer to move me and ignite interest in me to watch it, I want following MCU to be a chapter I shut behind me.

But why? What's the reasoning?
I got what I need, I got what the post credits in Avengers one paved the way for. Whether the mad titan lives or die, I'll have to admit that another plot will drag more.

So... You actively hope they make films that look like they are something you don't like? You want them to make movies... You won't watch?

...

...

...

So... When you end up disliking a movie has that like, cut out the middleman or something?

"I didn't like that movie... Good. That's exactly what I was hoping for."

I just want to ignore this stuff. Perhaps I will start with Far From Home, or start with what comes after that.

There are movies of theirs thus far that I simply cannot enjoy:
The Dark World, Ant-Man & Wasp

There are movies that I enjoy, but some of the more important ideas in them frustrate me when I think about them:
Homecoming, Iron Man 2, Age of Ultron, Civil War

And then some of their movies lose their spark on repeated viewing:
Guardians of the Galaxy vol 1, Doctor Strange,

I don't want more experiences like one of the above with movies from this long running franchise, I don't want to be burnt. And I knew the limits of the story I want to follow, so I choose to stop there.
