Wow, take away Japan's OW numbers and SS will still have a more than respectable 45.5% drop from last weekend. That is amazing. t:

It's really funny now that all this while I was assuming 60% drops because the GA were supposed to hate this movie.

SS is a HUGE hit for DCEU. Go DCEU. t: t:

This guy is just making me love him more and more and I never heard of him before SS. I know its just Twitter but as we know these people are aware of the negativity directed at their work and it's nice to see David taking the time to thank the people who support what he did.

Ayer is awesome, and is actually a very good film maker. While I enjoyed the movie I do wish WB would have stayed out of this one. I actually hope Ayer comes back to the sequel as he will hopefully have a bit more freedom then.

>Suicide Squad comes in a little lower than pre-sales indicated, and was a bit frontloaded over the weekend frame as well. However, based on estimates, its debut is slightly higher than Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice's, and it may be greater than The Dark Knight Rise's ¥372 million to earn itself the title of biggest DC opening in the market. It'll be targeting a total around 2 billion ($20 million). Very impressive.

I think it will end its run around $725 M total worldwide,which would be f-king amazing.The fact that it now has a slightly better legs domestically than CA : CW just shows how much GA liked this movie.I would have been happy with $600M+ after the initial reviews, and consider that is its break-even point according to reports, the fact it would make $125M more means a huge huge profit from BO alone.All this without China.Its a huge BO win for DCEU and extremely welcome.Its very pleasing to know the doom-sayers who predicted SS would crash and burn financially after the terrible reviews,and the DCEU would be rebooted, were just horribly wrong. Next stop, Wonder Woman.

Considering 312 million domestic and 388+5+2.5+1.5.+1+1=399 million and at least 16 million from Japan, the final WW gross will be at 312+399+16=727 million.

Now that we have the actual Japan OW numbers, the drop from last week is even lower. It's at 41.8%. That's really impressive. t:

That would be 8 billions in merch revenues in just 2 years or is it 5 millions total for 2015/2016 ???!!! Damn, you would have to wonder why they even bother with the movies (edit: Well their net profit on EpVII reached $780M in March 2016, which is nothing to sneeze at but that looks like petty cash compared to the profit coming from merchandising).

That's exactly the mindset Avi Arad has but unlike him, Disney give a f***.

I'd give it approximately 60 to 95mill more from china given how things are going and similar titles from BvS to non mega mcu movies like GotG even.
Still, the what if side of it has it's plus sides.

So SS will finish about 720-740M WW, 120-140M over the 600M "break even" mark, take home about 50% of the 120-140M so about 60-70M, add in merchandising and blu-ray/rental/rights etc 50M each, would be about 160-170M profit which is in line with that profit projection article I posted a few days back.
