Not only that, WW was the one part of BvS that everyone seems to have liked, or at least found decent

I agree JL has a big hurdle to overcome, and I'm not sure the corny humor that WB is forcing into Snyder's increasingly drab color palate works. But whatever, I'm just along for the ride
Wonder Woman is getting a lot of goodwill for being the "first of its kind", even if it is actually isn't. It has the natural hype of being a film built on a feminist icon.

And yeah, there is an odd disconnect with the imagery and the tone of the first trailer for JL. Snyder really hates color.

When I edited this review and read about the "dancing witch" I wasn't sure I believed it. Then I saw the movie

Gonna be really interested in how this film performs at the box office.

I'd still like that Dark Universe film, but if this under-performs I can kiss that wish goodbye.

apparently WB should never try "dark" anything ever ever again

ever

Ayer's F**K marvel comment was so, so stupid. I doubt the vitriol against the movie among Marvel fans would be so big if not, even if the reviews were as bad. Really gave the fans ammunition.

I'd kill for a Swamp Thing film, but I doubt it'll ever happen within the next decade.

The funny thing about that is that it's being sold as "the first of its kind" based on the premise that it's the first good female-led superhero film. Because so far, we've had Supergirl, Elektra, Catwoman and... Tank Girl? Barb Wire? Not sure if those last two count.

But anyway, if WW sucks, then it will just be grouped in with those others as another bad CBM.

I'm heartbroken again! I know I will love this movie but I so badly want to see my DC movies getting universal praise instead of negative backlash. Just totally unfair and now I won't stop hearing it from friends about how my DC Sucks and their Marvel is King :csad: I'm Diehard DC fan forever and it's heartbreaking.

Read more comics and pretend the movies don't exist.

So how long until WW gets extensive reshoots?

They could only re-shoot some of the indoor/studio stuffs and with a small crew otherwise they'll be spending another couple of hundred millions of dollars.

SS re-shoot that I heard was for the appearance of Ezra Miller's The Flash (?).

As well as the bad story telling and other flaws people seem to hate this dour tone that WB are doubling down on.

I don't think much of Kingdom of Heaven but then I think that Scott is very overrated director.
Bloom is a weak lead, but I am a sucker for period pieces, and everyone else killed it in the film. Plus my beloved Eva Green kills it. And come on my love, you have to like Blade Runner right? Or is our relationship about to become tears in the rain?

Sorry, I always hear that one brought up when people defend extended cuts, because I didn't like the theatrical version and I wasn't about to sit down and watch a longer version of it no matter how much better it supposedly made the movie.

It was better than BvS though, that's for sure.
No problem.

I'd only recommend the DC if you liked the original film. If you didn't, yeah probably won't change your mind. I love the DC, but I also liked the original cut of Kingdom of Heaven as well.

I feel your pain man. I have one pro-Marvel friend who wanted this movie to fail SO hard and I was hoping I'd be able to laugh in her face. Not looking like that's going to happen now.

(To clarify, I like Marvel a lot. it just annoys me when fans of either side are actively rooting for the other one to fail. These aren't sports teams or political opponents.)

It's alright. In the end, it's just a movie. Every movie is. Accept it and move on.

At this very moment, I have completely accepted every single DCEU movie is going to be rotten. Accept this makes it easier.

If this keeps up it's going to be hard to attract talent.

just came home from watching this movie (avant premiere) in france

the greatest part of this movie is the performance of the actors , its absolutely fantastic, authentic & Sometimes feel like watching a real life situation with no camera ,with people throwin what sounded like non scripted lines & actually bein mad at each other for real, helping each other,
the chemistry is just fascinating & feel so real

the scenario , when u look at it seem nothin special but the movie is build up & edited on a amazing way , to make sure its feel like a action/Drama physchotic thriller, & dark comedy at the same time wit alot of up & downs .
i liked the way Mr J was incorporated to that story, he'sa brillant joker ,a scary joker not playin around Joker , his scènes at arkham are great, jared nailed it & the music playing when he appear , :hmr:

weak points ? the are existent ,but minimal ,some will feel dissapointed about the Underuse of some charachters ,some about the vilain, some will question Will Smith as deadshot '(people who read comics) cause dude doesnt seem that menacing & authentic

but overall its a great movie with alot of thumbs up ,edited very well unlike BVS first version who fell all over the place , the tone is unique & great,

bad critics comin from the press are somethin excepted , but this movie is like i said very authentic & doesnt fell polished like other comics movies, who are just afraid to do stuff & keep makin basic stuff just like the last cap america civil war with war machine situation.

Need another look to re admire margot & joker scenes

I simply think the talent, vision, and planning is not there in Hollywood right now.

Also, if you look at Marvel, their movie cast grew once the audience was introduced to their main characters i.e. iron man, thor, etc.
I think the executives are to blame first and then the directors/ writers. Their vision and plan is bad, and they put the writers and directors in a bad position. They should have used the TV universe and brought it to the cinemas and expanded on it.

I suggest DC end their cinematic universe next year with Justice League before they permanently damage the WB and DC image.

I only count those first three. :funny:

DC getting WW out before Marvel is a legit praise worthy. But yeah, if it sucks, it is going to be crushed, maybe worse then anything else. But right now the hype is real and it is beautiful.

Yeah, it's a bummer. I can't believe this started off worse than BvS.

This was my most anticipated movie. I'm sure I'll like but there wll be negative opinions everywhere and I run a movie website so you can't escape those. Major bummer :(
