What are you talking about, yes there is... Supergirl and Superwoman are two different people, and on top of that it would take any chance of Superwoman being on the series in the future.

Not being familiar with this stuff, I had look up the specific iteration of Superwoman in your posted image. This one, among several others, seems to be relatively recent (from the New 52/New Earth/New Krypton era?); she’s actually (SPOILER!) Lucy Lane; she’s somehow evil; and she’s eventually killed off (though I guess there’s a resurrection in a subsequent story).
And this is the version of Superwoman that you fancy appearing in
Supergirl, yes? I.e., Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan or a replacement actor) would return - this time as special guest villain in an extended arc. And because of this possible/hypothetical appearance, the “Superwoman” name needs to be reserved for her, yes?
Well, fair enough. But…
Idle musing #1: It could be argued that there’s more dramatic (symbolic, meta-textual, etc.) value to Kara Zor-El transitioning to “Superwoman” as compared to using this name for a mere
villain du jour. And if you really wanted an evil, superpowered Lucy Lane, is there much lost by just calling her “Ultra Woman” or some such?
Idle musing #2: A 30-year-old hero who’s still called “girl” might be a variation of the “elephant in the room.” It’s not a big deal as long as no one calls attention to it. But if you have Supergirl facing off against Super
woman, you do kinda call attention - unnecessarily, unintentionally - to the “politics” of the name.
Finally, a disclaimer: I’m not -
at all - married to the idea of “Supergirl” (the show and the character) getting a name change. Indeed, I highly doubt it will happen. I’m just saying - playing devil’s advocate - that such a change
could be interesting and could be made to work.
