No he's playing an unamed mercenary that's a rival to Barney.

I figured as such. I just recall the early rumors that he was going to be playing himself and didn't recall whether or not his name was mentioned. I could'a sworn Barney said it.

I thought the story was good...That's what mercenaries do, simple and to the point. 2 viewings from me so far!!

I've been thinking, seeing as to how Dolph Lundgren's character has problems with drugs, could his role had been originally the one offered to Van Damme? He's had real life problems with drugs.

Edit

I found out that indeed it was originally written for Van Damme(probably ancient news). Hopefully Stallone can still find something for his liking.

Just got back and loved it! A great action fest reminiscent of the '80s. I'm really hoping Stallone goes ahead with a sequel.

I thought it was great that all the actors got some time to shine. Love that line Sly says to Bruce about Arnold.
Bruce: What's his problem? Stallone: He wants to be President.
That got a lot of laughs in the show I was at, packed theatre too.

Terry Crews was badass when he pops up going to town with that gun. Pure badassery!
I'm glad Lundren survived and is part of the team again, was kind of disappointed when I thought he was dead.

As a movie I give it a 2.5/5 but as an action film similar to past action movies from the '80s and solely grading compared to those films, I give it a 4/5. I just wished some of the fight edits weren't so fast, especially with Jet Li.

Sly accomplished what he wanted.

Gave us 80's action movie fans a tribute film featuring the some of the best action stars of the 80's, 90's and 2000 eras to make a kick ass ACTION film, that isn't intended to take itself too seriously and it ends up being R rated like it should be!

Bravo Sly.

Lets hope he makes a sequel before he truly does get too old to anything like this ever again!

The AA-12 used in this movie is one of the most badass weapons I've seen used in a movie in a long time. I was awed by the utter destruction it caused when Caesar used it to mow down the soldiers. And the theater sound whenever it was fired, holy...

The A Team was terrible!

You're high. The A-Team ruled. :o

Although I hated the lack of real violence in this movie. Waaaay too much CGI blood. It just doesnt have that punch that real blood has.

Rambo was better I thought. But I still loved the **** outta it.

I haven't even seen the movie yet but, I honestly say that the trailer for this movie was better than the entire new predators movie. I was very disappointed with predators. So I am 110 percent sure this movie will blow it away.

Predators sequel needs crazy Dolph.

Likewise Expendables 2 needs Hanzo.

Gah! Figs and dude love loved this? Now I need to see this movie! I guess I might see it tomorrow. And I think I'm seeing Inception tonight.

Cant wait for this movie - it'll be so great to see Dolph back on the big screen were he belongs.

I'm really enthused by what I've seen so far and the reviews that I've read.

Hopefully seeing this tonight. The fan reviews are always more important than trade reviews when it comes to genre films like this, so I'm very excited.

just saw this movie last night and it was great this and inception make up for a really bad summer movie season
