Nah, no way. Xverse was running smooth for me the whole time. If THAT much, the site would probably crash.

Course you were joking. :p

Nope... no metal wall... just put up 4 metal strips....
So, did you just super-glued the four metal strips to the wall, put the poster over them and then use the other fours to hold the poster?

huh????

I screwed 4 metal strips into the wall, then held the poster up and as I held it up, I used magnets to hold it against the metal strips. So that way, if I ever take it down or move it, there is no damage to the poster. It is almost like it is free standing. I thought it was creative of me :)

Clever.

I usually use blue tacks to hold up the poster. Ugly, though. I live in an apartment, so I can't screw the walls. I like your idea, though. *sighs* The blue tacks are getting old.

Well, I moved back into my parents house :( and they are ok with it. I would have done this at my old apt. as well. I would never tack this poster up.

Well, when you look into how much it would cost to frame it, you might change your mind :)

not really....

i have these cheap plasticy frames that are very good:up: :p

Whoever Zach Ward is he won the Phoenix poster. Anyway, here is another poster sighting.

And it looks like Jean's is torn.... people that so that should be flogged :)

On another note... is it just me or have most of the posters been removed from EBay again? I did the searches I normally do and could not find any... just 1 of Wolverine.

Well... not sure if this is something I should chalk up under good news or bad news.... you know how I had concerns that the poster I got was not the real deal and that I thought that it might be a copy. And how I mentioned that I filed a complaint through Paypal stating this?

Well, I thought that the seller would draw it out and get rude with me ... well... I got an email tonight from Paypal saying that the seller has refunded me the money for the poster. And there is no information from the seller. I am not quite sure how I should take this.

I mean ... does it prove that the poster is a fake or is it that the seller stole this poster and knows that if I were to pursue this more, he could get into trouble? I hate the thought of this poster not being the real deal... I mean, it is possible that it is the real deal right? Being vinyl and all maybe it was a different version of the bus shelter poster. Maybe they did not put much money into the bus shelter posters knowing that, in the end, they would just be tossed. So maybe that explains why the font in the lower right corner is blurred.

I guess I should feel lucky just having one that is in good quality... just wish I knew for certain if it was real. Either way, I got the poster for free I guess :)

Today was a good day... I got my poster today! yay! This one was a little crushed as well, however, this one was vinyl. The last one I got was regular poster material. So I am assuming the person I bought it from stole this one from a bus shelter. Anyway... I ironed out the creases as best I can... I am very pleased with it.... Let me know what you think....

A whole bunch of X3 Take A Stand poster sightings. People are taking notice in more ways than one.:)

From Cr8 Ur F8 (Beverley Hills):
Take a Stand [Feb. 24th, 2006|11:08 pm]

I'm so excited! All these great movies are going to come out in the coming months.
X-Men 3 The Last Stand: I've waited two years for this and now it's finally here! Well, almost here. Actually, it's May 26, a long time from now. My brother and I already have plans to see it together. I'm more excited about this movie than prom and Presidential Classroom combined! And those billboards are so freaking awesome!
V for Vendetta: It's from the creators of the Matrix, so it has to be good. I hope, at least.
UltraViolet: This is going to be either really good or really bad. It's like they decided to make AeonFlux again, but this time with the girl in a white uniform instead of black.
I better earn some more cash to pay for all these movies.

From thingsiknow.net:
Take A Stand: The X3 Campaign

February 25, 2006

I think I must've walked by this advertisment at least half a dozen times before my roommate pointed out last night what it was for. My ardent admiration of the previous X-Men movies aside, this advertisment just smacks of genius.

The "Take a Stand" campaign for the third (possibly last?) of the X-Men movies, slated to premiere on May 26, makes use of 1) a minimalist approach to text in its complete *lack* of context AND in the simple sans-serif font chosen and 2) a very artsy, hip, grungy, and tension-filled photo. Whoever came up with this concept is amazing. I am stunned, and I'm not the only one. There are currently six in the series, and they are all equally gorgeous.

Links to the other five, as well as the X3 trailer (also WAY awesome), following the jump.

The other five posters:
•Angel
•Beast
•Jean Grey
•Rogue
•Storm

It's so subtle and it's so suited for the movie. X3 has officially been named "The Last Stand;" the anticipated plotline is that Jean Grey, who is presumed to be dead at the end of X2: X-Men United, is resurrected as Phoenix, but in that form poses a threat both to herself and humanity. The cure that is found for her becomes, in the end, a cure to 'fix' genetic mutations, thus threatening the existence of the mutants at all. Hence, 'the last stand.'

I seriously cannot wait for this movie to come out.

X3 Announcement Trailer

PS: If anyone can get me a copy of any/all of these posters, I'd love you forever. You think I'm joking but I'm not. Seriously. Love. FOREVER.

- "wacha gonna do with all dat junk all that junk inside yo trunk?" "I dunno.. have a garage sale?"

So last night me, Randy and Sandra all met up for drinks. However, it was Karaoke night so after hearing a laughible rendition of "Bring Me to Life" (which sucks 'cause the place I go to actually has a really good group of people who show up and sing pretty well. Sandra dubed them "Karaoke Hustlers") we decied to go get some food and went to an In n Out.

Me and Randy are both insaine comic geeks and ended up trying to explain to Sandra about the X-men.

Randy: So it's kind of like Martin Luther King and Malcom X
Me: 'cept Magento's not black. He's jewish.

Then we ended up explaining to her about the new X-men movie that has all those posters of the characters all standing around looking noble with the thing at the bottom saying "Take a Stand."

You will notice that there is a VERY Good reason why they don't have one of Charles Xavier.

Randy suggested maybe if they did one they could put a question mark at the end. "Take a Stand?"

I went back home after that and slept until I got woken up to the power shutting off only to turn itself back on again.

So I went over to my computer to turn it on only to hear "VRRRRROMROMROMRROOMROOOMMCRUNCHRUCNGRINDE"

I think "Crap. The computer has finally died on me." and I call my Dad who says that he'll call his computer friend in a few hours to ask him for his advice on it.

Then ALL the power goes out.

I try calling the power company again only I get the crazy ham beast I got the last time.

Me: I understand that the repaire crew dosn't give you guys an estimated time of repair but do you know if they'll he-
Ham Beast: RRAAAAAHH!!! WE DONT GIVE ESTMIATED TIMES!!!!!RAAAAAAWANTPIE!!!

...they keep this up, I'm gonna switch to Northern California Edison.

So I can't go back to sleep and I end up takeing the car in to get some work done on it. After that, I go back home to check on the power and vola' it is up.

So I turn on the computer for kicks and BAM it boots up as if nothing has happend.

I call my Dad to give him the update on that and he thinks that when the power shut off for the first time, when it came back up it was running on VERY little power. So there was enough energy to power the lights in the house, but something as energy consuming as the computer couldn't start up.

After that I went out, took notes for my Sociology class, went home and slept 'cause due to the power problem, I'd woken up way too early.

Anyone seen the X-Men 3: Take A Stand billboards around town? Pretty boring and uninspiring. They don't even invoke action adventure. Instead they look like ads for Zoloft. I hope the movie doesn't suck as much as these print ads.

Poster

I find this poster really really cool, the version i saw at the subway station and behind the telephone booth is a bit more rectangular horizontally. There's no mention of the movie or the studio or the actors at all, just a date and "Take A Stand"~ I just really like the concept of it, so relax, so quiet and stylish, the character isn't even facing you or anyone, just hanging there, chilling alone, waiting for something~ but you know this is gonna be an action movie cos, comeon XMen, Wolverine!! The shot here it's cool as James Dean, that's all I can say~

I saw some really funny subway grafitti yesterday on an X-Men 3 poster . The one with Wolverine leaning against a wall and the slogan "Take a Stand". Someone used white tape to make it say "Take a Standing Pee" and had a tape-stream of piss spewing from his groin and splashing on the ground. It was genious.
