I never said it was a deep movie. My point was you don't open with $60m and end up with nearly $300m because people hated the ending of your film.
If you say so, but I found Inception's ending to be beautifully crafted.
Is the spoiler in the Bale interview BIG? There are people who say it's not a big deal, and others are disappointed by what he says...
He's the director. Why shouldn't I care with what he says? I wanted to see in what context he said it because I can't recall him ever saying Batman in his interviews but it seems like he did. All I remember is him saying Bruce Wayne's journey which makes sense in this context. Not sure what you're being confrontational about. Geez.
This is all I will say regarding the ending of TDKR. I'm not giving spoilers, and I'm not confirming or denying ANYTHING specific. You don't have to worry about reading this post, but I'll put it in a spoiler tag anyways:
Yes, I have seen a chunk of the ending written out on the Internet. It is out there. Many versions are way off, some are pretty close. However, I have NOT seen anyone write something that accurately reflects what plays out on screen. By that, I mean that the versions that are pretty close are either all mixed up (out of order), completely generalized/vague, or completely missing the point (and the essence) of the ending.
Also, people seem to be considering the last several shots of the film to be "the ending", and as we know, an ending is much more complete than that. Was Batman being chased by dogs the ending of The Dark Knight? Or was Alfred burning the letter "the ending"? At this point, people are reading WAY too much into certain rumors and I'm not sure why anyone is so worried. Even some of the things I have read sound pretty awful out of context.
I almost wish I could just openly talk about it with you guys now so I could PWN so many people who are saying such ridiculous things. People might be sick of the way I've been talking to everyone on here sometimes, but I never imagined I'd be in this position (having seen the film 2 weeks early) or that everyone would be so up in arms and desperate to read the true ending. You have no idea that ridiculous PMs, Facebook messages, and Tweets people have sent to me about the ending. SHEER PANIC.
Regarding the ending, most of you are way off and are either completely incorrect or completely misreading things. And like I said, I haven't seen anyone write it out the way would appear in the screenplay, novelization, or even a Wikipedia synopsis! As Arnold would say....CHILL.
No one is picking up the franchise and "continuing this series". It's over and done with. I'd bet my life on it.
man talk about stubborn! how many jesus christ are there??????? for the love of god man im sure the ending is going to be exellent but bruce wayne is bats
It talks about the possible future of a character if that makes sense.
There's nothing subtle about that ending. It's hacky. Just my opinion, but ending on a question for the question's sake is gross.
Just that theShape and many others have praised the ending and some are just freaking out about it. It is bringing back war flashbacks of TDK when people did the exact same thing when the ending leaked prior to it's release. It's nothing personal, I just hate the cyclical nature of it.
Having said that I wanted to quote theShape and some of his things again:
i know what you are saying. but i have a different way of seeing it. but thanks for the argument solidus. That's not the point and your missing it. Like Hercules as you said before, many generals or Emperors claimed to be of the blood line of these heroes or legends, in a sense to say they are the continuation of them. Just like many have claimed that Christ or other religious figures guides their morals. Just as some may take up arms and go under the banner or moral code of the Bat.
It was, espcially because it really wasn't ending on a question. All that "Is he dreaming?" stuff was audience speculation. I recall reading in an interview Nolan's whole point with that shot was that Cobb WASN'T LOOKING. He didn't care anymore.
It is still an ambiguous ending, of course. But those are the best. You can discuss an ambiguous ending.
Honestly, I didn't feel the need to wrap that in spoiler tags, but I figured someone would complain, so there you go.

Good thing it doesn't end on a question.
It's certainly winking at one.

Is the [BLACKOUT]sentence under the title of the article[/BLACKOUT] an indication?
Kind of.

Would you or someone be able to direct me to this article? I'm not sure I'm finding the one being talked about.
