Just think, in an alternate universe where the 90's Superman films didn't fall through, there's a Nic Cage Superman and many disgruntled fans.

The disgruntled fans will be made happy with the Justice League movie coming out in 2015, with Cage as Superman and Travolta as Batman.

You think Cage is a bad actor? So you haven't seen Raising Arizona, Wild at Heart, Leaving Las Vegas, 8mm, Face/Off, Bad LT, Adaptation, Matchstick Men, Lord of War?

Heh, even if I thought those were good choices, it would have to be a Kingdom Come film to cast actors of that age.

 this...

Nick Cage as the Joker would be a bad selection IMHO. Is like casting Zach Galifianakis as Batman.

Nick Cage is sooooooooo over-rated.

Sorry I don't mean to be rude, but I don't like that guy :oldrazz:

Cage is a good actor, he just picks terrible scripts. His acting in Matchstick Men was damn good. DAMN GOOD. That being said, I can think of many people who I would rather have as Joker before him.

Raising Arizona = Amazing.

Also, why couldn't Schumacher have done with Batman as he did with 8mm?
It will forever be one of those head scratching conundrums, and historically a damn shame.

I actually think James Franco could be a really good joker he definitely has that Jokerish Smile.

I want Benedict Cumberbatch as the next Joker.

No. He's an actor I admire but I'd hate him as the Joker. Riddler yes but I doubt his ability to pull off the crazinesd of the Joker.
Although he has the face for it :hehe:
Loki as the Joker is my choice although I doubt it'll ever happen :csad:

It's fine, you're not being rude, you're just being wrong.

I'm still waiting for a Matchstick Men Blu-Ray :o.

Yea, Schumacher did make some decent films. I think the Bat movies were just riddled with WB micromanagement after the controversy over Returns. They went from creep and dark... all the way to campy and neon.

Personally, I never understood people who say things like "This actor was great in that scene in this movie, he would make a perfect [insert superhero/villain here]". Not that there's something wrong with it, of course, but it just doesn't seem as the right way to go. Just because someone played a smiliar/smilar role/roles before doesn't mean they would be the perfect choice for a superhero/villain.

Reminds me of some rumors a while ago about who was on the short list for playing Lex Luthor in a new Superman film, and they had listed several mediocre actors, all of which were just bald... That was it. Just a bunch of bald actors. Way to choose an actor for a role, just because he looks the part, or he looks exactly like one particular comic series version of a certain character.

I always prefer casting choices like the Heath Ledger/Joker one, Daniel Craig/Bond, Tom Hardy/Bane - ones that piss a lot of people off. :D No, kidding - ones that make you wonder at first why they went with that particular actor. As long as the core of the character remains in tact, race, face, hair, even gender don't matter to me. I don't want to see Billy Zane as Lex Luthor for example, just because he resembles a certain picture of Lex. I want to see someone who can be challenged in the role he's been cast.

Adrien Brody has the face for the Joker but I don't know about the acting skills.

But then, we wouldn't really need an actor that aesthetically resembles the comics to pull it off.
Look at Ledger, he has no similar Joker features but there's still no better Joker out there. He made that role.

LOL! Great gif!!
Anyway, I don't want to get off topic but I have a list with Nick Cage, Whoopi Goldberg, John Travolta, Sandra Bullock, Shia LaBeouf and Alicia Silverstone: actors/actresses not to be included in any Batman movie... EVER!

:argh:

HAHAHA

Cage is a special case though, he's one of the most versatile actors of the past 30 years.

I honestly think if you could deage him by about 10 years, he'd be an amazing Joker. Like the one from Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo's Joker graphic novel.

Like I said, he is much better than most people acknowledge. Just because an actor is always in terrible movie (most of the time) doesn't say anything about their acting ability. He is a good actor. Again, Raising Arizona and Matchstick Men. Still, he wouldn't be in my top 5 choices for a Joker today. If he as chosen as a Joker though, hypothetically speaking, I would be one of the few open minded to it.

People were pissed off about Hardy as Bane? He is genuinely the best actor I've ever seen. (Bale still holds a spot as my favorite though)

I think its a bit late with the Alicia Silverstone one.

Yea it's cool. I'm not trying to ram the choice down peoples throats or anything, i'm just messing around. I do think he'd be interesting, to say the least, in the role though.

When people start saying Cage is a bad actor though i have to reveal to them the true ways of life. Which is; Cage is awesome.

Wait... another idea! How about... Vincent Cassell?
