The Dark Knight Rises The 80th TDKR General Discussion & Speculation Thread

That was before the Catwoman trailer came out and at the height of Avengers marketing. The only way to get an accurate, fair reading would have been to do the poll in January or so.

Well, like I said, I'm not the biggest IGN fan either... but people must visit the site quite often for it to still be around.

Not to mention this really has nothing to do with liking IGN or not. This discussion is pointless... all I am saying is there are positive things about Spidey out there... it could be on IMDb for all I care...people read it regardless.

Interesting statistics. I thought TDKR might be a bit higher for women because of Catwoman.
yea seriously...Snow White is only on the because of that Twilight girl.

I'm surprised MIB3 is on either one of those list... thats on my s*** list. I hate Will Smith. I wonder what the age range was

I think it's come to the point where most people will be satisfied if TASM was a "good" film, as opposed to the "best superhero film/event ever" some people were expecting when the film was first announced.

Hate to say it, it's not exactly a great time for Spidey fans, the USM tv show is stinking up the joint, and the movie is being swept under the radar in favour of everything else. Things are really riding on this film to be good.

To be fair, they stalled forever in terms of marketing Catwoman so I'm not surprised.
This is true. A couple shots in the trailer, the thing general film followers see before a film. And if it really needs to be spelled out to the public, the only time we've ever seen the words 'Catwoman' are on that merchandising poster that was released about a day ago.

I don't know how anyone could actively "hate" Will Smith.

I'm not even a Spidey fan TBH... I'll see it just for fun... I said a while ago I think it will be a pleasant surprise and, along with Prometheus, a good way to spend time between TDKR and Avengers. (I'm incredibly excited for Prometheus, mind you)

Let us not boast too much. Merely a decade ago Spidey fans were in the same position Batfans were in. The tides could turn again. We are undeniably in a golden age as Batfans right now. Things could change again.

I think ASM will be better than most people think I have faith that for one thing Garfield will deliver the Parker/Spidey dynamic weve been waiting for.

I'm sure it will be decent. But an origin film, sandwiched between the first Superhero team movie (coalescing from different franchises) and the finale of Nolan's Bat franchise is underwhelming no matter how well made.

No one is boasting, I'm just telling the truth, a lot is riding on TASM right now.

I think by the time Spidey rolls in people will be over the Avengers craze and ready for some new superhero blockbusters, I really think itll be a surprise hit and pave the way to make Rises atleast the second biggest film of the summer.

It would be nice to see Spidey succeed. I hated all the doubters/boycotters before the damn thing had even started shooting!

Um, Spidey has no word of mouth.

ASM is pretty much mixed. People in my circles are either really excited or really disinterested. I've heard both.

I'm mixed. I love Spider-man, but it could be a mistake revisiting the origin.

I've heard there's big hype for some movie about a Knight that happens to be Dark, and will be Rising in July.

2 months away from now... it just feels like yesterday when I first heard about Nolan producing this 3rd masterpiece all the way back in 2010... It still gave me a good sensational excitement that left me in wonder back then 4 years in half ago at ending of TDK still stunned me to this day, and will again on July 20th the promise day.

If I may, I like to really show just how much appreciation I have for TDKR and what films are really meant to be.

Cinema: What really defines the definition of cinema? In Quote -
"Photography is truth. The cinema
is truth 24 times per second. A film must
have a beginning, a middle and an end. But
not necessarily in that order. To wish the movies
to be articulate is about as sensible as wishing
the drama to be silent. Pictures are for entertainment,
messages should be delivered."

The Dark Knight Rises will define Cinema and become an instant Legend! Nolan's trilogy represents that definition itself. :D

The darker toned sequel to Knight and Day is going to be released in July? With Cruise's recent success I expect it to be better. :o

God, I want that film to succeed. But the odds are against it, GA-awareness-wise.

I have mixed feelings as well. I want a cool take to accompany the Raimi one and possibly improve on it. And the Lizard is a great villain. But still. There's something off about it.

haha i dont... i just hate his kids. :o

I don't get this either. Jaden Smith has proven to be not that bad with Karate Kid, and it's not like outside that hair song Willow has had much attention.

Since some of the most recent news on Django is of Kurt Russell walking away from the production....getting a trailer for it may be a bit off.
Supposedly Django footage will screen at Cannes tomorrow.
