Someone explain to me why they would make it so similar to this

I know we're all in denial but...That picture isn't the same at all. It's not even at the same angle as the one in the poster. Sorry bud, not the same pic.

Now that I've taken it into photoshop, it isn't the same photo. My bad. But it's certainly from the same photoshoot, no doubt.

just an awful poster all around.

Really?? THAT'S the final poster?! I mean, it isn't horiribly awful, but it's just not what I was expecting in the least. If someone hadn't told me that was official I would totally think it was a fanmade poster. They couldn't make anything a little more original or incorparate Catwoman at all? UGH. :wall:

Once again wb is proving how their marketing for this movie is very meh. I've seen better posters on these boards. I went to the movies with my friends and saw battleship(god awful movie btw) and tdkr trailer came on. Half the theater didn't even know there was a new batman movie coming out and the ones that did said the movie looks ****** they should have brought the joker back. I've heard stuff like that from crowds at a few movies and mainstream. I blame the lazy marketing from wb. It seems the only people to know this movie is alive are the die hard movie fans and us fanboys. I'm very worried their "well the 2nd one did good the hype will be huge for this one, so we don't have to do much" take they are doing is going to back fire. Then they release ****** character posters and now this. Just very disappointed.

Did you guys notice that Batman can movie his neck now?

Hahaha dayumn! This hasn't detered me one bit but I have to say this marketing and "new" poster is depressing. I'll save any more comments to see if things pick up in a few weeks but... this poster really looks fake... is WB trying reverse psychology?

I'm actually surprised by the amount of people decrying Faraci's article in the comments underneath. I fully expected there to be a steady stream of "Yup, yup. Faraci is right. Down with Nolan's Batman. Avengers Fo Life," bile but I was pleasantly surprised.

......:csad:

I'm glad that we got a new poster but this is just lazy. There is more creativity in the fan art thread as far as posters go...What gives WB marketing department? MessanjahMatt or whatever has a plethora of fantastic stuff that they could've used instead.

I mean, this poster is so plain that I thought SHH was being played by some fan-boy with some decent photoshop skills.

You would have expected them to do something a little more creative for the final poster. lol

Two stellar teaser posters. Two stellar trailers...and the marketing department has been a disappointment?

It's not.

I didn't find the 2nd teaser poster impressive either TBH. :o

What's going on with movie posters these days? This looks terribad, but nothing can be compared to the X-Men: First Class shadow posters with Xavier and Magneto crouch shots.

I miss Drew Struzan.

The marketing for TDKR has just been weird, first the lack of posters then releasing the recent trailer bit by bit through a viral, now this? I thought John Carter's marketing was bad....

Batman on the Batpod fleeing the police...Batman in The Bat pursuing the Tumblers and the truck...Catwoman stealing...any of those would be better concepts for a poster. This one is very The Dark Knight 2, if that was the point. Uninspired.

:lmao: Ok so i'm listening to Pandora (hans zimmer radio) and they're playing this song by Boreta with a techno beat and Batman totally looks like his bobbing his head to it. Thanks for the laugh after being so disappointed in teh poster.

If anything the color scheme will the orange shooting out showcases the whole "fire rises" thing the film is going for. It still has the black and grey/white aspect...just now with a fire-ish color rising from the back of it.
