We all know, that the inevitable (first screenings and worldwide premieres) will occur during this weekend and the upcoming weeks, so this thread is all about the very first reactions, experiences and everything TASM-related from people (press, fans) that were lucky enough to be there (before the initial release) and observed Marc Webb's new movie. So, please, be kind (keep the discussions peaceful and civilized, there is no need for any fighting and absurdness) and don't forget, I repeat, don't forget to put the spoiler tags, so the other folks (who won't be able to see the film so soon) wouldn't get into trouble. Thank you!

Best wishes,

RIM.

1. What does RIM rate the movie on a scale of 1-10?
2. Why exactly does he not like it, and can he confirm that Dutch review we were given yesterday?
3. Even if he doesn't like it, he said others will. So it is just a matter of opinion, and does not DEEM the movie bad.

No RIM gave his informed and educated opinion that is all, nothing more, nothing less. He said some will appreciate it, and some will definitely not. The most you can get out of this at this point is that it's a mixed opinion.

I know we shouldn't be so disappointed yet, but it's really to not let emotions take over, especially when I was already pretty worried way before this

I know its his own opinion, but I'm feeling depressed now waking up to bad news.

You really need to keep it under control guys. How f**ked up will you be if you get one raving review tomorrow and then a completely negative the day after? It's the nature of the beast, so try and keep it together.

I would like to at least hear RIM confirm that the Dutch review is legit and not a fake. Like confirm whether or not the post credits scene that was described actually happened.

Of course it's legit, it's a legit film site, why would it be fake?!

Thats just a polite way of saying that the movie is Bad

To each his own, but if it's a problem with the story, origins, I don't see it as a problem for me. I'm a huge Spidey fan, but not bothered if they changed the origins, hell, when I read Straczynski's run, I was at first floored by the Totem thingy "WTF is that ****", and then I was totally okay with it thinking "hey it's cool and creative".
Riggins you are a good man :)

You're Jeph Loeb?
BAZINGA!!

It sounds better than how GL or GR could be described. "Most will hate it, some will not."

No. Mixed is mixed, as in he liked parts of it and he didn't like some other parts. Doesn't make it bad. Don't go in with the logic if it's not great it's bad.

Has anyone got a translation of the review. If it's a legit review, why is it not in a thread?

its bad in his opinion..
Thats it..doesnt mean its actually bad..
tdk wasnt liked by some people but it was still good

Could be, that's what it sounded like to me. Like RIM wasn't expecting to dislike it as much as he did, and he didn't want to outright set everyone off with just saying "it sucked hard". But that's just how i see it, right now we just have his words, and they imply "mixed opinion" for now.

It seems that this can go both ways. It might be good. it might be bad... don't know what to make of anything any more.

TDK has a 94% positive rating. That means 6% of those critics did not like it, and that is still quite a lot of people.

I said this in the discussion thread as well, but apparently all the action is happening here:

I think it's kinda fishy that he's disappointed with the movie, shocked even, but doesn't say anything else but that very vague & short statement, or even stick around

The only logical explanation is that RIM doesnt like it because it deviates too much from the comics-Spidey's Origin,The parents angle,Connors character,Captain Stacy etc which is why maybe Spider Man comic book lovers would not like it

But the plot is still good for the GA who dont have any knowledge about the comics

Picard Sisko. I'm digging your enthusiasm, I mean that... But I'm still pretty nervous. This film just can't fail.

Okay, so we had our first official review which was 4 stars (very positive). We got RIM's word on it, and he says it was basically a disappointment, but we didn't get a real review. Now we all must mourn I guess.

Did RIM like the Raimi trilogy? Because I still love Raimi's movies, and maybe he just has different taste?

I know how you feel, man. I'm nervous, too.

I think he didnt like the movie, but it would be awfully rude to say the movie sucks. So he said that some may like it..

I hope he comes here soon and clarifies what exactly does he mean
