The imdb score is now 7.9. Earlier I said 41 people put a 1/10 rating for this film. That number is now 57. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
jeez have 57 IMDB users actually seen the movie to rate it 1/10?

Thread Manager threw away my post:

In the words of Super Cool Ski Instructor...

If you trust IMDb reviews, you're gonna have a bad time. :o

Variety's review is up:

http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117947790/

"A nerdy schoolboy from Queens gets bitten by an altered arachnid -- again -- in "The Amazing Spider-Man," a mostly slick, entertaining and emotionally involving recombination of fresh and familiar elements. With the propitiously named Marc Webb at the helm and a solid screenplay, Sony's reboot of its successful franchise, arriving five years after the last Sam Raimi-directed installment, is gratifyingly more of a drama-with-action than a nonstop assault on the senses. Benefiting enormously from the perfect chemistry of leads Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, this superhero date movie should do boffo biz, though only strong word of mouth can confer must-see status."

This movie might be remembered as one the most human movies based on a super human ever.

It's probably the most relatable CBM so far.

I couldn't say; I haven't seen it.

Imo, the most relatable CBM I've ever seen so far is '04 Punisher because I would do exactly that if my loved ones were killed.

I was never an outsider in school.
I was never rich and my parents never got shot.
I was never adopted and felt "like an alien" or alienated.

To me, TAS-M won't be the most human based CBM.

That's why is probably

You're saying "probably" to a movie that you haven't seen yet. I don't start that kind of talk until I have actually seen the product.

Theyre not ready to let go of their skepticism. Understandable.

Why would you say "probably" after you've seen it? Probably means you're guessing right? Once you've seen it, theres no probably about it. Its either definitely yes or no.

Nothing wrong with "probably" if you like what youve seen and heard so far.

It COULD be a human based CBM for a lot of fans, but it could not as well.

It's not that. I just don't proclaim anything until I have seen the movie. I don't say things like TDKR is probably best Batman movie ever made, or Captain America 2 will probably best sequel ever made because I haven't seen them. Why would I make such assumptions?

True and I haven't seen it yet but I would disagree to a certain extent. There is one thing this film is focusing on that relates to each and everyone of us. School. We have all been there and had awkward experiences. The majority of us have all had a crush at one point in school. We have all had arguments with a family member at some point in our life, throwing aside our responsibilities. I am sure the vast majority of us have returned home late " where have you been".
This in my opinion makes it very relatable, if executed properly.

Well, considering most super hero movies aren't really all that relatable, and that this movie deals with finding out who you are, asking out and being with your first girlfriend, dealing with family issues, and being a bullied outcast, I would say it's more relatable than most. But maybe that's because I'm a teenager who's dealt with all of these things.

I wouldn't even trust the positive reviews on IMDB

Lol!

Some weird choices you got there.
