One interview avi mentions that they ran out of story to tell with the rami series I think going with the ultimate/miles route they can keep it from becoming stale

Plus Garfield also mentioned in an interview of he's hopeful a Latino/black actor may take over for him as far as spiderman films go

The GA doesn't really know amazing spiderman comics there are people out there with most they know about the character are from the cartoon and rami series

I really don't want to see that route taken. Simply because that's not the Spider-man I grew up with, or the spider-man that's been popular for over forty years.

And Avi saying they ran out of story is pure and utter bull. I wasn't a fan of the Raimi films, but they ran out of story? That's insane. They easily could have done more stories. Just like you could easily do tons of stories with the classic Peter Parker spider-man. Death of Gwen Stacy, a Proper Venom Story line, a Sinister Six film, Kraven's Last Hunt, etc. I could go on and on. There is tons of stuff to draw from.

Not only that, but I just think it's lazy to switch the race of a major character just...cause. Make a new superhero! Make him popular, don't change existing ones just to be edgy.

I really do hope that Andy keeps the role beyond the trilogy if all goes well, I mean, he looks insanely young, and will probably keep looking this way, he could play Spidey for a while (I know he only signed for a trilogy, but it's standard stuff).

I would hate to see peters death as well but I have a hunch they may take it the ultimate/miles route. I for one have haven't read any of the ultimate comic stories I grew up on spiderman comics in the early nineties and that's the spiderman that holds true to me, I don't feel like I would be alienated if they did introduce miles. I must say I'm curious how that story would translate to film.

Honestly, I would rather see a film adaptation of the Clone Saga then the Miles story brought to screen. I have absolutely no interest in a Spider-man that is not Peter Parker.

It would be cool to see Spider-Man as an actual man... If we got a series that chronicled him from 18 to like 30... would be awesome
... was Raimi's version not an "actual" man? I get what you're saying, but your wording is odd.

I know that Andrew will return for the trilogy, but I think after that he will be replaced.

In Amazing Spider-Man volume 2, we see Peter aging and growing into an adult. I remember when he even had a teaching job, and I liked that.

It would be awesome if they killed Spidey though, because NO ONE would expect that.
That's your reasoning? Kill Spidey because it would be unexpected? I'm not sure how else to make this clear: Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy was a cash cow because Spider-Man appeals to people of all ages. Parents are not going to take their kids to see a movie where the hero gets killed, and the word will spread fast.

I feel you, I actually hated the clone saga myself. Comin to find out Parker was actually a clone would be just-as dissapointing. I celebrated at the death issue of ben riley I still have that comic somewhere packed away.

But Gwen is bound to die. Wouldn't that affect some parents decision in allowing their kids to watch that?

Possibly, but the supporting cast dies all the time. See: Uncle Ben. But the hero is supposed to live to fight another day.

I don't know how I feel about Miles taking over. I think killing Peter would really hit the GA hard, really the kids would he heartbroken. I would rather see Andy do like 9 films cuz that would be dope. Seeing the same hero for that long kinda like the MMU route and just keep continuing the story

Kids need to learn that people die.
And you can argue that all you like, but name a summer blockbuster meant for people of all ages where the main character dies. It's not going to happen. People don't want to leave the theater mourning the death of Spider-Man. They want to leave the theater happy that the good guys won.

With four Spider Man movies having now been made that feature Peter Parker as Spidey,
I think the odds are long we will ever see Miles Morales on screen.

Kids will eat up any spider man, like most kids that saw the rami trilogy loved it.

People will also take their children to watch tdkr and it's hinted a death of batman scenario as well I'm sure they won't advertise it as a death of peter Parker film anyway

But people already know Uncle Ben dies because of the Raimi movies.
The GA may not know about Gwen dying. If they build her character right in this movie and future sequels, her death would probably be the most impactful in comic book movie history, because she seems so likable.

They killed Peter in he comic and this movie is loosely based on that comic series, if it does happen... You can't say that you did not see it coming

Batman is far more mature than Spider-Man. Kids go to see it, sure, but they're not the target audience - especially not with how cerebral Christopher Nolan's version is.

Miles Morales will never appear as Spider-Man on film. It's that simple. Save this post if you think I'm wrong so you can rub it in my face, but it's never gonna happen.

Comics =/= film. They were able to do that in the comics 1) because it was an alternate universe and 2) kids don't read comics as heavily anymore. Teens and young adults are comic readers, people with the means to pay for a $4 issue every month.

Yeah I know. lol My original comment wasn't meant to be anything serious.

I actually liked the concept of Ben...as a clone. I hated that the whole reason behind the CS was to replace Peter. However, I also didn't like that they completely undid EVERYTHING. The death ish of Aunt May was wonderfully touching, and I wish they had kept Ben around as a character. He had a great brother aspect going on with Pete. And Scrier and Kane were both very interesting characters.

However, they drew the story on much too long and it became too convulted.

But I honestly would rather see a condensed version of the clone saga done on film then the Miles thing. Peter is my Spider-man. He always will be. I'm not interested in seeing another Spider-man.

I'd rather not rub anything in anyones face, its all speculation on where this particular take on spiderman could go
