One interview avi mentions that they ran out of story to tell with the rami series I think going with the ultimate/miles route they can keep it from becoming stale
Plus Garfield also mentioned in an interview of he's hopeful a Latino/black actor may take over for him as far as spiderman films go
The GA doesn't really know amazing spiderman comics there are people out there with most they know about the character are from the cartoon and rami series
I really don't want to see that route taken. Simply because that's not the Spider-man I grew up with, or the spider-man that's been popular for over forty years.
And Avi saying they ran out of story is pure and utter bull. I wasn't a fan of the Raimi films, but they ran out of story? That's insane. They easily could have done more stories. Just like you could easily do tons of stories with the classic Peter Parker spider-man. Death of Gwen Stacy, a Proper Venom Story line, a Sinister Six film, Kraven's Last Hunt, etc. I could go on and on. There is tons of stuff to draw from.
Not only that, but I just think it's lazy to switch the race of a major character just...cause. Make a new superhero! Make him popular, don't change existing ones just to be edgy.
