It happens. I think The Lego Movie is hilariously over-rated yet everyone else on the planet apparently loved it.

exactly!
I´m not going to say it this one is bad, it has all the elements in the formula to be good, for some people it works, for me as a personal opinion, it didn´t but that´s just me, not going to go saying "don´t watch it" trolling in boards or speaking against it, just putting out my opinion on GotG; each person has it´s own, and like any movie, it is worth watching and making an opinion on it. :cwink:

The Lego Movie was good, but not my top ten.

FINALLY! Someone who felt the same about the Lego movie as I did.

It's baffling. Aside from a handful of laughs I sat there stony faced the entire time waiting for the praiseworthy parts to kick in, which of course never materialized. I was sure it would get better because everyone said it was sososo good but it never did. What a letdown. Even worse I subjected my poor mom to it, who never asked to have her 90 minutes wasted but it happened anyway. So thanks for that, internet.

I wouldn't call it abysmal but it felt like the sort of movie you sit through because your kid is five and really wants to see it and then you erase it from your brain and never think about it again.

I saw someone compare it to Wreck It Ralph but it couldn't hold Ralph's jock strap. It's like comparing Barney to Jurassic Park. Ugh.

exactly!

It says a lot about fanboy culture that you feel you have to defend your statements so much. Hopefully nobody here thinks you're trolling, if the flick didn't work for you then it didn't work. No harm in that.

The Lego Movie wasn't even Lord and Miller's best movie of 2014.

so with all of these gems talk

i can see during the end of AOU, stark is holding the time gem and accidently travel to the future and see thanos killing all of the other avengers wearing the gauntlet

Man all this Lego Movie hate. Screw you guys hahah that movie was awesome

I thought that the Stark/Dead Avengers thing was a fever dream thing brought on by Witch?

So happy I don't need to avoid the spoiler boxes anymore. :oldrazz:

I agree with the recent Dr Strange idea/guess/assumption.

Oh and Lego Movie > GotG :o

Lol I loved the Lego Movie. :p One of my favorites of the year.

There are generally loved movies that aren't my cup of tea, but I almost always understand why they're considered great. You act like it's some great mystery why LM is well regarded. It isn't. Not your thing, leave it at that.

And comparing it to GotH is just a non sequitur. Who the **** cares?

I'm acting like someone who didn't like it and doesn't understand the fuss made over it. Don't try to paint me as some anti-Lego bigot. I thought the movie was dull, uninspired, and geared towards 4-year-olds. I'm terribly sorry if that hurts your precious feelings.

I admitted it's not my thing and left it at that upthread. I can't help it if everyone on the planet feels the need to suddenly walk into this thread to explain how wrong they think I am.

There was no comparison with GotG. It came up naturally as the thread progressed. Try reading the thread before leaping into the fray.

Did you ever play with Legos Whiskey? :o

Btw I only brought up GotG because I just saw it tonight, for some reason this thread got into Lego Movie topic; I contributed my bit.

Lol Don't turn into Rock, Whiskey. You wanna stay around a lil longer.
Anyway have you guys seen this? What a fantastic montage. Love the National Treasure music. :p

I'm hoping the Infinity Stones aren't played as macguffins every single time.

There's got to be a way to subvert it so that while one's present or introduced, it's not the driving source of the entire story and thus the center of the characters' universe.

Not seen GOTG yet so don't know what happens to the orb and the aether, but I assume Thanos doesn't get them as I can't see the Guardians failing on their first mission.

Thanos needs to actually start acquiring them, in which case a Thanos movie?
We follow Thanos as he schemes his way to each gem, maybe eventually deciding to go get some himself. We need to see Thanos be a true badass, someone seems undefeatable before he gets defeated in A3

It'll have to be during Phase 3. So we have a build up towards Avengers 3.

I'm still thinking that part of Asgard's Ragnarok may as well be Thanos coming to collect what's his. Haha, to think that Asgard's prophecy of doom is nothing but a pit stop from Thano's perspective.

GotG2 may as well have him stomp on them at some point and collect a Stone too.

Basically, yeah, after Age of Ultron, he needs to really get going on this if he's going to have the Infinity Gauntlet in time.

There's apparently, like 9 films in Phase 3, plenty time to collect 6 stones. He might get three from the GotG property, since The Collector has the Aether, Nova Prime has the Orb and if they do Adam Warlock, that'll be the Soul Gem, all right there. Asgard has the Cube, as said before he can come for that during Ragnarok, and deal with the others in the movies they first appear in.

Keep in mind, Thanos could simply scheme them all into one place, and/or pick them all up during the first half of Avengers 3. Or during after credits scenes from the movies they appear in.

I'm betting on after credits scenes. For each/most movies.
