Age of Ultron The Avengers 2! The Official News and Speculation Thread - - - Part 49

I don't think Ultron can reach Joker or even Loki level villain status simply because he's not a human character. I put a Jeff Sneider quote from Meet the Press a few pages back "I prefer human characters like Kingpin than robots." Joss Whedon even made the choice to get rid of Ultron's signature jack-o-lantern face so that he could emote more.
Personally I love robot/artificial intelligence villains, I can't speak for the general public but I do. I like that they are inhuman.

Despite the controversy over Ultron's face I understand Whedon's decision to allow him to emote physically.

Most of the early reactions have been praising Ultron....

Really? Where?

I also read a terrible review from some French publication, but it seems his beef is with Kevin Feige in general. Either way, it's not stopping me from looking forward to the movie, I'm more for the heroes, not the villains, and I am excited about Hawkeye (seeing as Renner is my favorite actor out of the cast)

I go see Marvel movies for the heroes and the villains. I want both to be awesome.

The reactions on twitter from the April 10th screenings praised hawkeye, sw and ultron.

Eh, I've never really been that impressed with Marvel villains, and the top favorite villains like Loki and The Winter Soldier, are going to end up redeeming themselves in the end, kind of like Darth Vader, so they aren't exactly villains like The Joker, Shredder, T-1000, Sauron, Voldermort......

It's cool that this movie seems to be doing for Hawkeye what the first movie did for Hulk, based on early reactions we've gotten. I guess that's cool about the MCU in general; characters get lots of second, and even third, chances to make their mark on the public.

Jeah i think the same, ive read so much negative things just based on hearing reading, see it yourself before deciding.
For me its the first time where i think ive read too much spoilers watched clips tv spots ... marvel did threw massive promo out for this one i think next time i have to be stronger, too much spoiler arent good marvel !!

Yeah so no need for people to focus on who is getting the 'shaft'. As long as they don't kill the character who is getting less now that guy might be the star of a future team film or get their own solo or 2 person team up film later.

Warhorse: I like almost all the Marvel characters good and bad except for a couple. Im not even judging them on how evil they are, just how much I enjoy them in the movies.

I no there is probably no chance in hell, but considering Renner is already a two time oscar nominee, it would be great if he got a win for his portrayal of Hawkeye.
If not for this movie maybe another
?

I saw the praise for SW and HE all over the place, but only one for Ultron, from a Mike Ryan.

I saw quite a bit of praise for ultron...I remember because I wondered why no one was mentioning the characters other than those 3 (and vision).

Less than no chance in Hell. ;)

He was great in The Hurt Locker too. I even liked his work in The Bourne Legacy.

I'm just not too thrilled with this "Bruce and Natasha have a lot of screen time together!" I'd rather they keep it like Tony and Pepper had in the first Avengers, a few minutes, and then get to the meat of the story.
