The reactions on this movie are some of the most oddball I've seen in a while. They're all like a laundry list of negative criticisms, followed up by "but it was still GREAT! 4/5!"
I Completely 110% agree. And I think most feel that way deep down. Those, trying to downplay what you said above are only doing so, so they can sleep better at night. They don't like it either, but it's not fun to admit, of course. Fact of the matter is that the word out, thus far, hasn't been all that convincing. To tell the truth, I couldn't see/spot any heartfelt energetic excitement from the AMC-crew either, when they did that 12-second video saying they'd just seen the film and would put up their review next week. No one in the studio seemed too up and energetic about it. Personally, I am
far_from always in agreement with Mr. John Campea!! Half of the time I think his likes a very weird, and I can't understand how he thinks about many things. Some stuff doesn't add up for me about him. The fact that he says he LOVES Ultron really doesn't fill me with a whole lot of confidence. No, I wanna hear that stuff from people like Jeremy Jahns & Chris Stuckmann. Those guys I understand and agree with like 90% of the time.
Quite honestly, this is the very
first review that makes me truly happy. All others before have been so F'ing bland, and almost every last one of them could as easily have been disregarded as being fake/made up. They all seemed so mediocre, playing it safe, as if someone had just made them up or trying to mess with fans' minds. Never the less, they didn't get me excited, they only made me worry, cause NON of the reviews seemed at all energetic. More like them trying to mellow the fact that they weren't impressed with what they saw, "but hey, I still had fun with it!". Newsflash; That stuff isn't reassuring, it's
sad. That might have been ok for the first Avengers, but if the second can't go beyond "just fun" then why bother? It needs to delve deeper, go more personal & emotional. That freaken "still had fun with it" line just doesn't cut it for a 2'nd Avengers film.
This here review gives me re-newed hope though.
