I like Whedon. I like the Russos. I'm very happy with Whedon's Avengers movies and I'm very excited for the Russo's CW and IW movies.

Nope. Clean bill of health. I Loved what Whedon accomplished with his films both as a Marvel fan and as a fan of Whedon and I loved what The Russos did with The Winter Soldier and can't wait to see what they have cooked up with Civil War and Infinity War. I just think this is a very good time to be a Marvel fan and I'm just really appreciative of all the work that these vast amount of filmmakers are doing.

I've been a fan of the Russos for some time. I love community, and while most of their work has been comedy, they've shown they can bring it when it comes to drama. Glad to see Community got brought back online, although I've really missed them having Chevy Chase on the show.

They have made one good movie. They've made other films before Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but they mostly sucked.

Whedon has a much better track record when compared to the Russo's. And both of his Avengers movies are fairly well liked. Not sure what's with all the recent hate towards Whedon but moving forward I'd feel more comfortable with Whedon around.

The Russo's did a great job on TWS but that means nothing moving forward. Avengers is a totally different animal and much harder to balance all the threads and characters. The general audience also has much higher expectations when it comes to the Avengers now so I hope the Russo's can pull it off.

Yeah the show just hasn't been quite the same for me without Chevy. I like the new cast members but the show is past its prime now. Its still funnier than most comedies but the loss of Donald G and Chevy was a hard blow.

On my way to seeing it a 2nd time, 5:15 show. Thought it was awesome, I have a feeling I'm gonna like it even better. Still haven't been able to head to an IMAX showing though. Just got off work and didn't wanna wait till 7.

No, I feel the same t: I'm excited to see what the Russos do with Cap:CW and the IW movies and it's clear they're up to the challenge, and they'll definitely bring some fresh energy to the Avengers movies. But I'm not dissing Whedon's efforts, he worked very hard on TA and AoU, and he deserves the break and the chance to work on other things.

I totally felt a 9/11 vibe from the building collapse. Especially when they showed all the people running from the ash. It looked just like news footage from that day. I don't see how the filmmakers didn't see this.

That scene was way over the top and made me feel uncomfortable.

I'm a huge MCU fan, but I of course want to see other studios succeed. A string of poor quality comic book movies will burst the bubble. Other studios producing good movies only helps the genre.

Indeed! I'm so happy we are getting tons of CBM's at the same time. Ten years ago i couldn't even have dreamed of something like this. Marvel, Fox and DC are all welcome in my books.

That is good to hear. There is definitely a lot of generalization that goes on to paint everyone a certain way.

But at the same time there is no denying that there are more than a few people on this forum who are VERY vocal about their fanatical "loyalties". These few rotten apples end up spoiling the whole conversation sometimes.

Though that may have been my fault for listening to all the MoS comparisons (good or bad light) beforehand, so I was basically uncomfortable for most of the fight hoping they don't give in as much. That scene did, IMO.

MoS has forever ruined these type of superhero fights for me. Specifically when two all-powerful people are just punching each other for 10 minutes. When I watched that fight go on and on and on I just sat there thinking why doesn't Superman realize punching someone who is immortal isn't going to accomplish anything?

I kind of had that same feeling here. But maybe it wouldn't have been so bad without the completely over the top ending.

They gotta be careful on those huge mega destruction fights. The one at the end of A1 was good but AOUs didnt have the same feeling for me. It got too messy and confusing.

What happens with me is instead of feeling exhillerated and happy at the end, I just feel bored and glad its over. which isnt good in a movie like that.

The end fights I'm actually OK with because they were actually accomplishing something by destroying each drone.

Its when they just have two all powerful beings endlessly punching each other into a stalemate that I start to get bored.

They brought up widow's kidnapping and the fact that there's no reason behind it. The only reason that I can think of - I'm speculating here - is that they, originally, wanted Ultron to do a switch between Vision and BW. And Vision, with jarvis programming inside of him, would be brainwashed by Ultron and put against the avengers. Then the avengers would have to take on Ultron, knowing they would lose the battle. After that, They would win the battle when Vision, motivated by quicksilver's death and by scarlet witch suffering, turned on Ultron and went to the side of the avengers.

Maybe that's why we see so little of Vision in the final battle and why they kept that part of the Vision a well guarded secret. And I still can't figure out why they didn't remain faithful to the original comic book story of Vision.

I think you mean indestructible. But he did snap Zod's neck to kill him, so thinking punching him probably going to do some decent enough damage over time to leave him vulnerable. Faora was also knocked unconscious in the smallville fight.

Anyone else who has only seen it once so far feel like it was all they could do just to take the movie in? I want to take part in all these discussions about the movie but I feel like I have nothing to say because I didn't even really have time to think when I saw it.

It's weird. I'm always buzzing and discussing a big movie every time I see it but this time it's like I've got nothing. I really need to see it again so I can actually think through the movie. Is it just me?

I kind of had that same feeling here. But maybe it wouldn't have been so bad without the completely over the top ending.

Personally, I would rather watch two god-like beings punch each other for 5 minutes than watch Loki getting his ass handed to him by Hulk in 3 seconds.

Thankfully the Ultron fight was satisfying.

Before some of you jump on me for making this statement, I love both Avengers films and not a DC troll.

Im always gonna be a Marvel fan, DC is meh...but Batman is the only character I like. I find that Marvel Universe is so colorful and rich with better characters that aren't as perfect that people make them to be...sure they're human like us, but they got flaws too. And I like how the marvel movies are set in a place we know and live in.
