Bale is more or less over now.

And since nobody is taking the steps to move away from it properly, then I'm doing it.

So discuss a new Batman here. Cast who you'd think would be the best choice.

Dont know who I want as Batman, but Im pretty excited to see who theyll get. I kinda want a younger Batman. Not year one but maybe year 2 or 3.
Even though Anson Mount is older, he'd actually be a good choice
 
40 is kind of pushing it. I'd prefer around 35 so he looks older then Superman but is also young enough to do alot of his own stunts. And I expect at least a 10 year run in the DC universe of films. Marvel picked up Downey Jr at 43 and 5 years late hes ready to quit. Batman probably wont see the screen until 2015 and the first Justice League movie will probably be 2017

Im still going with Joe Manganiello. Hes already got the build, and hes 36, a perfect age. I think he could do for Bruce Wayne what Daniel Craig did for James Bond. Just need one scene with him shirtless and all the ladies will fall for him just like they did with Craig in Casino Royale

What I get from Batman is this, which is what I want an actor to convey

An angry child.
A brooding teenager.
A compassionate man.

Could soneone like Joe bring those things?
 
Michael Fassbender or Idris Elba.
 
Casting Batman is probably one of the most difficult things. Well, casting a younger version in his second or third year. My top choices would be:

Younger: Sam Witwer, Matt Bomer, Michael Fassbender (is he considered younger or in the middle? Same with Alex O'Loughlin)...Uh...can't think of anyone else.

Older: Anson Mount (he looks pretty good for 40), Richard Armitage
 
I can't support Manganiello. He looks more like he ought to be playing the villain's henchman than Batman to me.
 
Please no Fassbender. He's Magneto. All fanboys pick him for every role. Also no Benedict. Benedict would work better with Martian Manhunter or Brainiac or Dr Strange.

Bomer wouldn't be bad. He looks like a male model, pretty boy billionaire. They type that could get any girl in the room and the type that all guy's who envy and also the type that would think: THIS GUY CAN'T BE BATMAN, LOOK AT HIS LIFE!!!

That's why he's perfect in a way. No one would think he's Batman and you need someone who could do that playing Bruce Wayne.

I am relaxed. I'm just tired of seeing Fassbender for EVERY ROLE EVER. I mean it's just funny how I see fanboy's suggest him for every role you know.
 
I like Maganiello well enough, although I feel he's better at comedy than dramatic work. I think he'd make a good Marcus Fenix in a Gears of War movie or even a good Hawkman. I cant see him as Batman (couldnt see him as Superman either)
 
I like the Matt Bomer idea. He was a fan favorite for Superman originally, but I could see him just as well playing Bruce Wayne.

He's 6 feet, so an inch shorter than Cavill, which will make it not weird when they are standing next to each other. I think it would be odd having Batman be taller than Superman.

You could say thats more true about Daniel Craig, but it worked out for him

I dont like Matt Bomer for the role. Bale was enough of a dashing playboy Batman for me. I dont want another yuppie in the role. The idea his superficial lifestyle would help him hide his identity better doesnt help. I want the lonely Keaton Bruce Wayne, not the Lamborghini driving womanizing Bale Batman.

Manganiello is for me the perfect balance between Keaton and Bale.

Still think Fassbender would be the perfect Batman. There are lots of other options but Fassbender is the best one by far.

Matt Bomer would be hella nice! Karl Urban is a good choice, too.
 
Yeah, now that I think about it more I would like Matt Bomer for Batman. He could definitely pull it off. For an older Batman, I would choose Anson Mount. He looks pretty good for 40!
 
Just watched the Fighter for the first time in a couple years. There's something about Bale..i don't know...but im just having a real hard time thinking of anybody else I want for the role. There's something incredibly magnetic about him when he's passionate about a project and not just doing it for a paycheck (Terminator for example). When he really loses himself in something he's unstoppable.

This is the reason why I always say Fassbender or Gosling because they're some of my favorite actors and im just glued to the screen when they're on. Even if the movie is poor or the actors around them aren't pulling their weight.

They get really deep into the characters they play, dark or light (like Bale). They also have this thing about them, especially Ryan and Christian..where you really care what happens to them in most roles they're in.

Im having a hard time thinking of a new Bruce Wayne that isn't Christian, especially since the odds are against me for Gosling or Fassbender to take the role in a few years.
 
A lot of people want Karl Urban after Dredd.
 
Matt Bomer and Luke Evans are the only actors I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure whoever is responsible for the casting of Batman will find someone who is excellent for the role that we don't know of yet, much like Henry Cavill.
 
Manganiello can physically fit batman, but can he do a great Bruce Wayne? I personally don't think so.

The problem is finding an actor who can be both Bruce/Batman.
