Justice League The Batman Casting/Discussion Thread

Better not be ****ing Jon Hamm :argh:
Haha why not? Who knows if he can play batman but he's the PERFECT 40 year old Bruce Wayne.

But they'll need to go young here. Which is why Manganiello may not get this since he's going to be close to 40 when this drops. I also hear his True Blood schedule may be in the way.

Im now going with Wes Bentley for the realistic choice. Which was a huge part of my batman fancasting last year.

As for Elmayimbe, I don't think he knows yet. He's looking into it..

Has anyone been keeping up with Jett? This guy is really going to extreme lows to piss off his readers. In other news today one of El Mayimbe's tweets implies that he may know who the new Batman is.
wait i thought bale was coming back

and planet hulk was happening

What's wrong with Hamm? lol. He's made for Bruce Wayne.

Too smarmy looking for me. He's got a face I want to punch!

Looks like the guy who stole my ex and that's the face he probably makes every night :argh:

Ohhh now the real reason comes out hehehe. Id laugh my ass off if Gemma and Jon Hamm get the roles for Wondy and Bats. Rodrigo will personally feel helpless.

if Adkins doesn't get the job......can he at least be the Batman stunt double lol

I think that people would find it cooler if the actor playing Batman did his own stunts. I think it was a big turnoff when fans found out that the actors who played Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon in the fight scenes were actually stuntmen who had their faces painted over during post. Adkins has starred in the lead in several movies ("Ninja", "Ninja II", "El Gringo", "Legendary: Tomb of the Dragon", et. al.) so he could certainly play the lead as Batman. I don't think this would be an issue.

He's a bit wooden. He could play Batman and do his stunts but so what?

It doesn't matter what fans think about the actor doing their stunts or not. Who cares? As long as it turns out good in the movie and doesn't feel obvious as a stunt guy.

adkins is pretty much a male carano. while his american accent is okay considering he's english, he is, as shauner said wooden.

That's Batman. He does stunts. That's his stick. What's more important is the acting abilities of the persons playing his villains. That's what worked in "Batman" 89' and "Batman Returns" (even "The Dark Knight"). I don't see why it won't work now.

Umm no. If you think Batman is just stunts then you don't know much about this. Bruce Wayne is the most important and he needs to be dynamic. He's playing 3 roles in one. You cant have a wooden Adkins who is hired just to fight good.

Keaton was more than just a wooden actor who looked the part and can do stunts. He was hired based on acting ability, dynamics and intensity. The look and fighting is not even necessary because it can be worked on. As long as there's a little bit of the look going so it's not too drastic.

Thank god you're not a casting director.

Well with Atkins as Batman.....it would be alot harder to tell since you know....Batman wears a mask and all.....and it would be dark.....

It's pretty much a given that every actor has a stunt double so it wouldn't be that big a deal if Atkins get the stunt man job. Want to say Bale never had a stunt double? In the worlds on Kevin Spacey's Lex Luthor.....WRONG!!!

Batman doesn't need to be all that. What he needs to be is seen in action more than Bruce Wayne (remember, he is just a guise).

Being dynamic, menacing, and vindictive is what makes Batman, not the fact that he is Bruce Wayne and not that he has to be a great actor either. Yes, Michael Keaton pulled off the roll, but it wasn't because of his acting prowess. It was the fact that he displayed the qualities I mentioned and that Tim Burton felt that he was only person who could play the role with a dark, obsessive personality (and that he has some great actors playing some of his most fiercest villains).

Please no Fassbender. He's Magneto. All fanboys pick him for every role. Also no Benedict. Benedict would work better with Martian Manhunter or Brainiac or Dr Strange.

After seeing this photo, I am willing to give Matt Bomer a shot:

Bomer wouldn't be bad. He looks like a male model, pretty boy billionaire. They type that could get any girl in the room and the type that all guy's who envy and also the type that would think: THIS GUY CAN'T BE BATMAN, LOOK AT HIS LIFE!!!

That's why he's perfect in a way. No one would think he's Batman and you need someone who could do that playing Bruce Wayne.

YEAAAAH!!!

I've found the part in the episode 1 of WC where he is sitting on the terrace reading some newspapers. He looked like Bale with his pajama.

If not him, at least Captain Hook.

Why Ben Affleck Said 'Yes' to Batman (Analysis)
Borys Kit said:
Sources say that Affleck has been signed for multiple movies, should sequels continue to proliferate.

The high-profile choice left fans stunned. Thousands signed petitions for Warner Bros. to remove Affleck from the role, and a social media sentiment analysis firm estimated that 71 percent of tweets about the news in the first hour were negative. But years ago fans attacked Heath Ledger after he was cast as The Joker, and, in pre-Internet times, Michael Keaton when he landed the lead in Tim Burton's Batman. (Or, let's not forget, Jon Favreau's in-hindsight-perfect choice of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.)

The deal also potentially lines Affleck up to star in (and direct?) Warner Bros.' answer to The Avengers: The eventual Justice League movie.
