I think they should give a brief explanation behind technology being present in the cowl (Night vision, eye protection, IR, etc) and then CGI the effects in to give it the glow from BTAS.

I like this one a lot, but those all are more of what im hoping for. Can you imagine if they can pull that off in live action?

Anyway, cataracts would look more like what GL had, and thats not what some of us are suggesting. And not bulbus like the DD lenses either. More like the many manip examples that BattleAngel has been posting.

I would actually like some glowing "contact lenses" that look kind of like the white-out eyes from Green Lantern. That was one of the things I really liked about that movie. Yeah, they had to build it with CG, but I'm still on board with it.

Simple flat white eyes for contacts just looks weird though. If they do "contact lenses" to get white eyes, there should be some indication of a pupil underneath, even if it's only visible in close-ups. I feel like the flat white can only work if they're sculpted lenses on the outside of the mask, like Spider-man albeit much smaller. If the lenses are on his eyeballs, we need to get a hint of a pupil, but if the lenses are in front of them, they can be flat white and still look good.

I'm not sure myself. It would certainly add to his creature of the night effect, but I wouldn't want Batman to look like a completely emotionless blank slate.

Not really. People get hung up on being able to see the actor's face for some reason, but Batman has the "benefit" of not even having his whole face covered anyway. And if an actor can't sell the emotion of that character through their voice (and rest of his face), then it would seem they're not that good at their job.

Yeah. I think the eyes say a lot of Batman's vulnerability, and I think having a perpetual lense/glow would take away from that.

But I do want to see the lenses in key scenes.

Why would you need to show his vulnerability with his eyes?

I'd love for Batman to be hiding in the shadows and silhouettes being the only visible images. It'd be great for a thug to finally see the "eyes" and then seeing a silhouette of a person falling, followed by a flashlight that reveals the room, a KO'd body, and Batman gone

I respect people's right to an opinion, but this thing is making my eye twitch. Combined with the fact that you guys keep reposting it.

Interally I'm like:

The curvature of the mouth opening and the nose are so damn ugly to me.

Guys, don't pay too much attention to Trollvesty. It's not just that he doesn't like the eyes - he just likes tripping up the thread. It'd be nice for this thread to continue without letting him drag it down like what happened towards the end of Part 13.

I brought this up in the last part of the thread. It's just what people are used to and a lot of times somebody has to see something done correctly first before they believe it can actually be done. It's not hard to see the vision though imo.

I definitely agree that the Green Lantern poster is better than the screencap, but in reality, any Batman with contact lenses would not look exactly like either. I would definitely lean more toward the poster art where even the pupils are "blocked" by the white though.

Obviously I'd get rid of the blue for live action and maybe change the boots a little. Superman and Wonder Woman will be wearing blue I just think it's overboard for Bats to wear it as well. And I've never wanted blue in a live action Batman costume.

I normally don't post pictures these days unless it's something I've had a hand in modding myself, but while looking for good pictures to feed my Batfleck-making-addiction, I came upon a few funny things worth sharing.

So I'm a big fan of shaking up the utility belt a bit from an OCD, symmetrical, often too-small and unrealistic belt into something that really looks like a tool kit that ergonomically holds everything that Batman could possibly need without weighing him down too much.
But lately, I've been seeing this weird trend of him wearing two belts. I think it's disgusting looking, there's just something about it that is SO WRONG. But at the same time... I kind of like it, in a horrible, horrible way.

Yuck.

But I do really like a serious utility belt. I'm a big fan of R Grampa's take on the belt especially.

To me, Grampa's Batman satisfies everything I want from a traditional black/gray batman, with lots of nods to the oldest regions of tradition, while looking absolutely practical and high-tech. Rugged, protected but very flexible, and very well equipped but totally organic and bat-like.

The other funny thing I found today was a few looks at the statue from the end of Dark Knight Rises...

It's not a shot of it from the movie, but every shot I could find shows the same thing...

No frickin' Jigsaw puzzle. Apparently whoever sculpted it for the people of Gotham were as offended as we are
