i don't think it's the size of the ears that bother me on that cowl, it's the positioning. i think the ears look better when they're father back on the head

I think the Batman Begins cowl had some of the best ears. There were not straight up and were not very large. I still think the Arkham Origins or New 52 outfit would be the best suit. I think days of wearing tights are over and it should be some kind of armor like Nolan did or even like the '89 Batman.

Is it the yellow on the oval that some don't like of the pattern itself?

To me, I really like the pattern. I could live with the yellow being changed to grey, darker vegas gold, or whatever.

I think a dark blue would be fine on the batsuit. The hue would be pretty important, and how it would react to lighting. But, an almost-black-blue is always a safe bet in the comics, so I'd like to see how it would look on film.

The neck thing...I can't see myself budging on that one. Even though the Batman Begins suit is my favorite, I do like the changes made to it on the cowl/neck in TDK and TDKR.

Yeah, those are way too long. The longest I like are what Burton did. Any longer, and it just looks weird to me.

If Bale stays, keep an armor like under body suit that look like crazy advanced hockey pads (for in the film science)... that he overlays with a grey fabric that is kryptonite/other stuff lined to block out Superman's vision and safe from satellites/radar/etc. Then we get more comic accurate and the best Batman.

I wouldn't have it lined with kryptonite, but ya have the army under the grey fabric is cool. He can always have kryptonite in his utility belt when needed.

Indeed. Batman can have plenty of protection from bullets and the like without looking like a robotic medieval knight.
