Not a fan of the texture on the emblem tbh, looks very similar to MOS

EDIT: I'm gonna take this back. I think some sort of texture is necessary for the suit to work well with lighting.

David's face is definitely fuller than it used to be, which makes me think he kept some weight on and didn't shred down to carved musculature. Which is great news in my book. It's also crazy how much he looks like Brendan Fraser.
Yeah I personally think that the fluffier body works better for Superman.

Yep, just generally big & broad - like he was raised on a farm!
Agreed. I’ve never understood gym muscles Superman. Christopher Reeve really had an ideal build for the character.

Just don’t give me a Tim Sale Clark and I’m happy.

Cute little vid from Rachel, Dave (yep, I'm calling him Dave) and Nick.
Sadly, already seen a lot of negative comments online because it has the Williams music playing over it.
Their ridiculous tears over the GOAT Williams theme being played in what is nothing more than a joke video… this is nourishment for me, just as our sun’s rays are for Kal-El

Cry more, cultist dorks

Oh I would be over the moon if this iteration of Superman looked like this. BIG dorky guy with an even bigger heart. But it's not gonna happen. Corenswet has a slimmer build. And Hollywood wouldn't approve, not in a million years. So I wouldn't be worried if I were you

I don’t know. I’m good with what you describe, but Sale’s Clark always looked to me like he needs an epinephrine shot because he’s in severe anaphylaxis

I think Cornsyrup has a good look of being an absolute babe but also he has a dorky look about him so I think/hope they can really make us believe that he can go unrecognised within the limits of a fantasy film.

Well, it could be worse.
Corencrest.

I don't care...in my head cannon that is the name! I will keep it away from @flickchick85 so I don't get banhammered ;) :o :hehe:

It is funny how much the Cultists hate the Donner/Reeves/Williams era but choose to embrace a pretentious, dark misunderstanding of the character. Yes, I do believe that's what Man of Steel was.
And they have the absolute nerve to act like Snyder didn’t take anything from them when Man of Steel is essentially a mashup of Superman: The Movie and Superman II with barely any comic influence.

It’s because, at the end of the day, they don’t care about these characters. They just care about Snyder. He could have had Superman rip Zod’s head off and laugh about it and they would say that was the true version of the character, just the way Siegel and Shuster envisioned.

I was rewatching the Superman/Lois interview and flight scene in Superman ‘78 the other day and it’s amazing how much charm that movie has and how much Snyder’s films lacked it. Even in MOS, which I didn’t dislike as much as his other two DCEU movies, there is so little levity. It’s all bogged down by this dour, cynical tone.

I happen to like the artwork...but practically speaking it is ridiculous. I mean think about it...that Clark Kent would stand out so badly you wouldn't need to be a 12th level intellect to figure it out. Like every rando guy in Smallville would be like "that mild manner Kent Boy must be on the Swarzenegger regimen cause he looks just like Superman!" :o

To them a movie isn't a movie unless it has lots of random BWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWAS int he soundtrack :o

It's interesting, on my first watch of Man of Steel I actually ddin't mind it. But it's a depressing movie, and I found that every time I attempted to rewatch it I kind of just was bored to death. I just don't understand the appeal of the particular version of the character, but as you said, they only care about Snyder. I used to actually find some enjoyment in his films, but his visuals have nose dived after Watchmen and have just gotten progressively worse and worse. I'm relieved that era is over.

And they have the absolute nerve to act like Snyder didn’t take anything from them when Man of Steel is essentially a mashup of Superman: The Movie and Superman II with barely any comic influence.
Yup. or they act like he did it better somehow.

Well, and I am honestly not saying this as a slight to Snyder, Donner is just a better director. That is why as much as Superman II is great, you can see where his stuff ends and Lester's begins. Some directors get the nuance of things, others do not. Donner, in all of his movies, always found a way to add charm to even the weirdest or darkest scenes and even the worst characters had something for the audience to enjoy about them. That is why the Lethal Weapon movies worked and why Goonies is one of the most beloved films of all time and why Scrooged is a holiday classic. He has a way of shining a light on something in every shot, every conversation that just grabs you!

Best example is still the pirate ship in Goonies...he wanted real reactions so he chose to not show them the ship until filming and that is why their reactions are awesome! (and childlike) They were real and we felt it along with them because we were seeing it for the first time as well. Donner understood that stuff, Snyder doesn't.

Donner tells stories...a lot of directors these days forgot how to do that.

Cue the daily post by one of our resident Snyder cultists telling us that we are the problem because we keep posting about them, meanwhile they’re the ones wishing for bodily harm towards Corenswet and freaking out about the Williams theme being used in a joke TikTok video.

I will give it to Snyder on one thing, the SV fight. It was spectacular.
That probably should have been saved for the climax of the film.
The Metropolis fight went on and on and on.
It was overkill.

Donner was a fantastic director. He had a great run, and more than I think people give him credit for. I actually believe every Lethal Weapon film was fantastic in their own way too.

You know, I love Williams’s score, but it’s ok to really like Hans Zimmer’s theme as well. John Ottman from what a recall, played on the John Williams score, but had a new theme that was nice, if not forgettable.

Now for Gunn’s iteration, I’m curious as the Guardians never really had a theme nor did the Suicide Squad. He’s more soundtrack based.

I hope John Murphy goes more the classical route in this regard. He’s not really known for that which has me a bit considered on the score front.
