They’ve been filming on the beach set this week (which is closed off, hence no pics. No one can get near it), these downtown streets get closed off starting today and going through the 25th. So I’d assume they’ll be shooting on these sets for the next several days now. Will be harder to keep them completely closed off like the beach because people actually live/work in these buildings.

That's what it sounds like, probably to minimize the inconvenience to residents who have to go to work and such. The street closures are 20th-25th. Considering the set prep they've already done, I doubt it's just more prep over the weekend.

I've said it before, but all these new photos giving us a glimpse of the streets of Metropolis are really cool.
I was hoping for, but not expecting, this retro-futuristic vibe, and I have to say that apparently getting it rekindled my curiosity about this film.
Maybe Gunn will turn out to be more adventurous than expected...

I think if you look at all of the cbm's Gunn has done, you can tell he likes his worlds to have a lot of texture and character. Shows why he films on sets. So I think it only makes sense he'd treat Metropolis the same way, and he's very hip to what makes a cool looking yet functional city.

I often find I get really excited by the sets and background cast and then when the film comes out those things are just in the background (obviously) but I want to spend time at each of those places and with those people.

I want a film about every shop and character which isn't a thing but who knows..maybe if Lombard and Jimmy steal the show then they might consider a spin off series and we can spend more time in Metropolis looking at all the details.

I just want to feel like I lived in the universe the film is set in.

Still at Mentor Headlands today. Think today's the last day there.

I think its gonna have a feel of the 30's and 40's, but with lots of modern vibes also.
I think it will feel ( and look ) similar to superman the animated series.
On a side note, I really hope metropolis itself looks bigger than NYC when we see the skyline shots.
( and yes, I know we saw metropolis in the background of the suit reveal, but we don't know if that will actually be what the city looks like )

The Leader Building Management supposedly said filming is Monday and Tuesday. A worker at Ohio City Burrito which is now The Wounded Duck next to the Leader Building also said filming is Monday and Tuesday. The casting call from a few weeks ago were looking for military, police officers, firefighters and EMT workers for Monday June 24. It looks like everything is pointed to Monday.
