You know what, I'm gonna go back on something I said to you last time @Tra-El - I'm starting to think we will get some sort of footage at SDCC afterall. Nothing much, just a tease, and it might not even be released online...but I do expect something now. It's timed too closely with the end of filming for me to think Gunn won't want to put something out to celebrate.

My gut is almost certain we will be getting something. It just has that feel to it. Gunn is the type that has been around the genre long enough (he has lived in this world for quite some time) and understands the importance of the type of exposure the event captivates. I asked him on INSTA a few days ago if there will be a SDCC surprise:beaming: We shall see, but I would hate an enormous missed opportunity if not.

As much as I want to believe, I don't see Brainiac when I look at this. I don't know WHAT I see, but not Brainiac.

Everybody keeps saying "spaceship" and I'm just...not quite there. But even if it is, not Brainiac's spaceship.

All I heard was a early screening of the trailer. :o

Huh. You know, maybe that first suit reveal wasn't that bad after all...

Now maybe it looks better in motion or completed, but...not feeling those looks at the suit!

It kind of looks like it could be something made by LuthorCorp. The color and sleek, industrial design language is similar to the LuthorCorp logo and the humvees we’ve seen. Maybe Lex is deploying Metallo-like robots to compete with Superman during rescue operations? That storyline’s been done before in comics and cartoons.

Yeah I'd lean more toward LuthorCorp tech than Brainiac at this point.

Plus, it’s compatible with Luther’s characterization as a “genius” in the newspaper we’ve just recently seen, and it fits the current tech zeitgeist w/figures like Musk going after advanced robotics.

I never understood the people who hated the trunks and their need to be so vocal about how much they hate them.

So that alone makes me so happy that we’re getting them. Also, I don’t like my Superman looking like he’s in a giant blue baby onesie, the trunks are a much needed contrast and for that reason, they’ll never go out of style
Hoechlin's Superman only has a belt as a contrast, and that suit proves that Superman can work without the trunks as a contrast. After all, we only saw him wear the Fleischer suit once...which really emphasized how much better his Superman looks without the trunks for my money.

I really feel like if we were getting another villain, the trades would’ve gotten the scoop on that casting a long time ago

And yet I prefer the classic suit he wore for 30 seconds in the pilot haha. But routh’s kingdom come suit is probably my favorite live action suit thus far

He also wore it in the flashback ep, so, twice! And yes, I preferred that suit as well.

I agree with the general notion that the suit CAN work without trunks. But I disagree that it inherently works BETTER without trunks. That's a load of nonsense, imo. My two favorite Superman suits of all-time are the Fleischer suit and the Reborn suit. One with trunks, one without. It can absolutely look great either way. But so far from what little we've seen of the materials on this suit, I think the trunks were 100% the right call here.
