Given how Gunn has talked about how important both the Planet and his hero life as Superman is to Clark and how clearly prominent the Daily Planet staff is on set, the Clark persona can't just be a disguise. Placing that sort of importance on the human side of Clark's life means it needs to have a lot of genuine human connection and truth to it. Which also means that Daily Planet Clark needs to be a real part of who Clark actually is.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well.

The Daily Planet is largely background fodder on the Donner movies, but it's pretty obvious that the Planet will be central to this movie,

Oh yeah, we’re definitely getting Nathan Fillion in an orange bowl cut

There’s no way James Gunn would cast his good buddy in this particular role and not make him rock the bowl cut
Maybe it and the turtleneck will cover his old. :o

Things like hairstyles may seem like trivial details but I actually think they tell you a lot about the characters. You can't forget there's an entire department completely dedicated to figuring out this stuff and they probably went through dozens if not hundreds of concepts during the course of production. Like any other part of the film, costuming and hairstyling exist to tell a story. Just from looking at Bruce Wayne's hairstyle and wardrobe in The Batman you could figure out he was supposed to be more reclusive and "emo", for example, so I do think it's fair to assume that such an over the top design for Clark's hair tells you a lot about how this Clark Kent take is gonna be.
You could be right. Still... the hairstyle lends itself to different types of “dork.” ;) Clark might be bumbling and ineffective (a la Reeve). Or he might be an introverted nerd who's, nevertheless, a brilliant investigative journalist. And this could be what attracts Lois.

Clark loves Lois, Lois loves Superman, Clark can’t reveal to Lois that he is Superman. That’s what the dynamic should be. I don’t like Superman actually being Clark Kent, Clark Kent is actually Superman!

They need to just call it a day and say that TB is in the DCU.

Corenswet and Battinson together for a World's Finest would cook.
Please no. I’m ready to see a comic booky Batman again, and Matt Reeves Batman just isn’t that. So I’m happy that there will be another version. In theory everybody should be happy. If you want ultra realistic Batman that wears a homemade Batsuit you’ve got Pattinson. If you want a more fantastical Batman hopefully the DCU version will be the go to for that.

Nah, give me Lois falling for genuinely dorky Clark Kent any day of the week.

Sucks to say because he’s a crappy person IRL, but I gotta give Dean Cain his props for portraying the ideal Clark Kent, it was just the right amount of dorky and suave….. like he had it down to a science lol

In James Gunn’s own words:

Invoking Superman's compatriots aka those he's had a known history and fellowship with, implying you can't tell a true Superman story without them, then trotting out these randos- Metamorpho, Guy Gardner, Mr. T, to prove that, is quite the outrageous spin. :funny:

I get WB poisoned the well using the more recognizable allies, for a franchise launch that was an incoherent mess, needed a reshoot of a reshoot to deliver an already dead in the water final act.
Yet almost a decade later, WB hire the guy whose whole approach borders on tongue-in-cheek cynical self-parody of the material, to develop their whole Universe?

(Pulling from Giffen, DeMatteis, Maguire, era and approach), like Gunn's shtick today works, and is great fun, the guys you bring in when you have given up on the original concept, are out of ideas for it, or anyone approaching it seriously, and you can only do somewhat meta, self referential parody of it.
Mostly using secondary offbeat quirky b team characters, to mock the classic.
Which from what I see here, is about where WB is with this franchise.

That this is really what DC/WB (and some fans) are hinging their hopes of the new DC Cinematic Universe on is hysterical.

Trying to collect some positives I can see:

1. Curly = more chance of S curl
2. Will be great for Clark/Jimmy dyamic
3. She's totally calling him Smallville
4. I love secret identity hijinks
