The Daily Planet - Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨SPOILERS🚨)

"needs to find his Kathleen Kennedy" Yes, because the current Star Wars franchise is such a well oiled machine and everything is going great right for them right now...
I liked the idea of each movie in the Sequel Trilogy getting a different director, but no overarching outline was a huge mistake.

David is going to have the material. It's probably safe to say that he will be the most well rounded Superman in cinema by design. He's going to be a mixture of Reeve and Cavill IMO. Gunn has hinted about David's ability to be stoic and serious, so I think this film will surprise all of us with those tones. But of course, the motive is balance. That's what Superman needs right now is balance. They went one way and the other with Superman Returns and Man of Steel. Gunn's version I feel will be the balanced version we've all been asking for. Let's just hope it hits.

It'd be nice to finally have a modern-day Superman on film that gets a decent amount of dialogue.

Just the insertion of more Daily Planet banter in the workplace will garner more dialogue. I am not one of those fans that demand slapstick dialogue just for the sake of dialogue. As long as it's good and the story is good, is all that matters.

I think the Daily Planet staff are going to drive a lot of the humor in this movie.

Read between them bald lines and lol at Jeff Sneider. He is clearly salty about Gunn quickly shutting down any BS rumor around his DC universe., it leaves Jeffrey and others with crumbs and can’t sell his lame paywall bs. The amount of clickbait nonsense has been far more limited since Gunn has taken over.

Not a direct answer, but I'm using this message as a pretext to talk about the likes of Jeff Sneider and Grace Randolph...

It's funny because ever since I've been hanging out on this forum, so since 2007, I've been reading about everyone being annoyed by these bloggers/scoopers.
Yet in all this time, I've only come across their names and videos... on this forum.
Never have they been recommended to me anywhere. Their existence is perfectly contained to the posts I read here.

If you want, I can share my method to avoid them, and it's free : never listen to or click on anything from bloggers and scoopers. :funny:

Same.

But not to be too positive ( :o ), I'd say I'm not crazy about the font.
At first I found it a bit blocky, but to be more precise, it gives me the impression of a font that's been stretched out, that's not in its original form.

Yeah, it's very specific and sounds like gigantic graphic design nerd nitpicking, but hey!

Otherwise, I think the color scheme of the whole is pretty much perfect.
I don't unless its here ;)

Hmmm... I dunno James, why would we believe those claiming it was coming in Dec? 🤔

I never get why people get so tense about this. You’re not going to miss out, it’ll get here when it gets here. Just relax so he can do it right.

As shigeru miyamoto says “a delayed game is eventually good but a rushed game is ahhhhh I’m being eaten by a shark someone come help and stop quoting meeeee”

I believe it will either be sometime next week or the last day of December; New Years Day. Just a hunch/guess.

Just relax, folks.

You expect James Gunn to just spill the beans on a hundred-million-dollar marketing campaign for his new Superman movie to random fans pestering him about it on social media?

Asking him when the trailer is going to be released is entirely useless. We'll all find out either when the trailer's online (lol), or when/if there'll be an official announcement from Gunn, DC and Warner Bros. about it being released.

We all know how this works. I'm sure this isn't your first rodeo.

If it's really going to be attached to Mufasa and/or Sonic 3, it'll be online next week.

Okay this is officially just annoying now...
Collider, which recently spoke to Gunn about Creature Commandos, said that we were likely to get the trailer with Mufasa. I believe Mufasa hits theaters on Dec 20. So, assuming he doesn't drop it online before then, we should still get it in less than 10 days.

I would love to see the teaser ASAP, but am ok with waiting for it, so far.

My biggest concern is everyone saying David will be the greatest Superman ever, and will blow you away. He could I do believe he is talented. But how long is this teaser, 60/90/120 seconds. I am sure people could say so after seeing the entire movies, but a teaser?

I hope the hyperbole is true, but it does seem a little overblown from just a teaser.
Unless I'm missing the point of your post, we're obviously not going to be able to judge David's performance of a teaser.
But James is obviously speaking form being around him day in/day out, filming everyday for the last however many months.
Obviously take it with as much salt as necessary, but James has been around a long time. If David has had that much of an impact on him, then its a good sign of things to come.

I hope they put the trailer with Sonic 3 as well. I probably won't be seeing Mufasa in theaters... already got my Sonic tickets though lol!

Fans are really making a mountain out of a molehill over this trailer. Albeit egged on by Gunn to a certain degree (who is absolutely on Social Media way too much).

The trailer will come whenever it comes.

It shows that there is interest in the trailer, which is a good thing. If no one cared about it, or were meh, that isn't a good thing for this movie.

Fans don't matter. Those tickets are already bought and paid for.

All about the general public who don't follow this stuff religiously nor do they know most directors by name.

The last thing anyone should want is people *not* caring about the trailer or when the trailer drops.

Fan interest will be the catalyst for general interest. Fans talk to their families, work colleagues etc..
If fans weren't interested, we would have a serious problem.
