So for Japanese Anime, it's all animated by Japanese correct? I'm assuming that's correct since Anime lovers say how Anime is a million times better than any cartoons from the states. What sucks is, they should be hating the stupid korean animators for the lousy cartoons in the states.

well the lousy cartoons is because nobody wants to invest in a quality top notch cartoon. The producers believe there is no market for it. I think anime shoudl be broken up into different genres, like mature themed animes (which tend to have the noir and realistic feel) and the kid anime and then anime porn...

The east and west are two very cultures, The Japanese are somewhat alien, it's like discovering a new planet for alot of kids who have been use to living on there own, the youtube kids seem to love all things japan, not just anime, I'm sure there are lots of teenagers who have whimsical fantasy's of escaping over there.

yeah there is serious anime, then there is kid anime like pokemon, then there is comedy teen anime, that usually still has some SD (chibi) characterizations involved at times, and then there is anime porn (hentai in the states) which...is awesome.

In the uk we don't have jocks, all we know is they that they cause psychopaths to go on shooting spree's.

From reading the paper, it would seem Japan is becoming americanized, things that are plentiful, that we are use and see often to are generally taken for granted, things that are rare or drasticaly diffrent from the norm have higher value, it's probably the case that there are many share the same idealistic view from one to the other that, little Japanese kids wanting to like Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, big Hollywood explosions, everyone needs escapism.

Haven't been, the only thing i remember about asain people is that line from enter the dragon "I no bastard, i Bruce lee", other than that, rice.

If they attache great names in the anime bussiness to it, it will no doubt atract their fans aswell.

And once it gets great reviews, it will atract mainstream buyers easily.

its rare that mainstream buyers will purchase animated films. it just doesnt happen in the west. Animation still has the stigma of being 'for kids', and an animation based on one of the ultimate 'for kids' icons just multiplies the problem.

They advertised the HELL out of the animatrix to get some buzz around it, and even then it didn't do amazingly well (it definately attracted the niche audience it was after, but mainstream audiences don't go to see animation except with their kids, and Animatrix had an adult rating if i remember). Batman anime doesn't have the advertising, any real backing from WB, or the available time, to make something anywhere near the level we might want.

I'm worried we'll just get another movie of "The Batman" but they'll draw him slightly differently.

nope, thats it.

not a damn thing official on it, and most of what people are taking for granted are pretty amateurish photoshops from 'leaked' sources, which could mean anything.

all we know for sure is that WB's home animation studio is handling it, goyer and azzarello have written some scripts, and that it'll be an animated dvd tie-in to the film in 'the anime style'. Thats the ONLY information thats official on the project.

alright then...i only asked because it would seem that every time i log in this thread appears that there is new posts, and i always fall for it being something imo tangible rather than how one would like to see it produced. now not that there is a vast problem with that, i only would like to see the title to the thread changed to reflect as such rather than giving people like me the hope of some sort of news or some sort of spoiler..you dig?

I sure as hell dig. I hate coming to a thread about something new [Like a Joker Challenge that was just issued an hour prior] and finding 56 pages of bull****. But at least there is a discussion going on here, even if it is certain people dissing/respecting certain Asian cultures that certain people know next to nothing about [Or threads about water].

there's just so little actual information on the batanime, I think the thread would dissapear if we didn't talk about SOMETHING. I like to think that we're keeping it alive until some ACTUAL information comes along.
