I think the first week of March is a good bet for an announcement. Cheer up everyone, it'll be here before you know it. :)

I honestly thought after the Bane thing that Jett had earnt some of his credibility back and that would be the end of the constant misfires that he was notorious for during the last movie. Boy, was I wrong. Ever since the Press Release he has constantly set me up for disappointment, especially the Robin Williams rumour.

Jett clearly stated that it was just him "thinking out loud" and not a rumor.

The thing that irks me about Jett's excuse for the Twitter comment is the fact that the Robin Williams as Hugo Strange idea had been brought up (by him) on his website before. It was not some new idea that he had.

He clearly stated it was "thinking out loud" after the fact. The tweet in question left ambiguous, allowing anyone to misinterpret. It gave him the attention he wanted.

IIRC that's when Eckhart was announced back 2007. Makes sense.

I dunno, people say this sort of thing all the time, but I'm not convinced there's a discernible schedule to it. We'll get an announcement when they have one, I say.

March would be lovely though.

I've been catching up with what's happened in the last 24 hours or so. Saw that the slides were posted, and I read only the "Scientist" one, as a tease, before heading to the grocery store. Not having read any further, I didn't yet realize they were for a different movie...

...I was really excited. Seeing as the "Scientist" was clearly a foreigner (hence the accent, which comes across as bad writing in pure text form), talking about a scientific development that could be a weapon, I started thinking "Maybe this is supposed to be a scientist at Pena Duro, developing Venom." And maybe all the rocket terminology was just to see if the actor auditioning could handle techno-babble and advanced terminology.

So I was disappointed to see, when I got back to read the rest of the thread, that it was for a different movie, and the scientist was probably a Soviet that really was talking about rocketships.

Oh well.

:csad:

When TDK came out, I was a senior in high school. I bought 60 tickets for my local imax theater in Orange County and brought 60 kids from my high school. Our high school is smaller, like 350 kids in the entire school, so everyone knew about the event. Our principle ended up showing at the show and gave everyone who went the next day off. It was pretty cool way to end senior year.

...But TDK came out in the middle of July...

Do you think the same thing will happen this time? With forumers getting us pictures from the set? I remember being over the moon when someone spotted Scarecrow in the car park.

No doubt. Wherever they end up shooting, there'll be excited Bat-fans ready to do some spying.

I remember the first!!!!! One was the batarang and the other was getting cut on a zip-line when going down the bank roof. Hate to see the guy right now who found out that was the wrong clown. :hehe:

Haha, I remember that rumor. Though from what I remember, it was my impression that the zip-line was from Batman's grappling gun - and that somehow it gets cut, and the huge tension in the wire snaps it across Joker's face when it gets cut, which ends up scarring him.

I guess if Nolan wants to film in Pittsburgh, then they'll be filming in Pittsburgh - tax incentives or not.

Also, he might have inside knowledge with someone on the legislature, who may have assured him that they'll put the incentives back in place. I'm sure plenty of legislators want to do that, and they know that in order to keep Nolan from running, they'll have to keep him in the loop about their efforts.

Yeah, there isn't a schedule like that.

It's helpful in that it gives a general idea for the kinds of news to expect early on, like last fall - but at this point, we're close enough to production that the timing of any news releases will be much more organic and not thought out well in advance or kept to any kind of schedule (deliberately or not).

And so it continues...

Not related to TDKR, but it´s interesting. JustJared just has a glimpse of Bale´s screentest as Batman in early 2003.

Aside from looking completely fake, it's well known Bale tested for the role while being severely underweight. Not at all indicated by that poorly done manipulation.

I have advanced this theory elsewhere, but I strongly believe (and I think there's strong evidence of) there is two female leads (Catwoman and Talia) and a female supporting character. Obviously, Catwoman was (in the end) between Biel, Knightley and Hathaway. I think Talia is between Cotillard and Weisz and I believe the final supporting female is between Watts and Winslet.

That was in the The Hollywood Reporter article about Marion being in talks. CBM was late as hell to post it.

Exact time-line for Los Angeles and Pittsburgh filming revealed:

What evidence do you have that it's Talia?

I don't think there's really any evidence for that, strong or not, but I am open to being proven wrong...

My belief in Talia really hinges entirely on these reports of Winslet, Watts, and Weisz being true or not.

Because Cotillard alone I could buy as a Talia candidate - throw those names in the mix and I've got to assume it's another character all together - a more malleable character, one who's appearance/nationality/age are all more flexible than Talia.
