And how about Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine? Filming has begun and we haven't heard of their casting.

While not officially announced as returning... they have both talked about the film and their excitement about coming back for another go. Thats all we need.

I don't believe they were announced as returning for The Dark Knight either... plus, they may not start filming until June/July, etc.

Can anyone tell me if they will be shooting TDKR in IMAX? I do remember them talking about it but since now they are about to start shooting I am wondering if this is confirmed.

Ya the IMAX pres and a few others including Wally have said they are shooting some scenes in IMAX.

Yeah I watched the videos but i'm not sure if its all in IMAX?

Didn't they say it would be used for action/location scenes, but ordinary cameras for the most dialogue heavy sequences?

^that would be pretty much the way they did TDK, I know at one point a while back they were toying around with the idea of shooting the whole film in IMAX format but I knew that was never going to happen.

yeah it's a shame that they are not filming all of it in IMAX, I just looked up the tech specs on IMDB and it says
IMAX (some scenes) 1.44 : 1
Panavision (anamorphic) 2.35 : 1

I guess they will shoot the same way as TDK.

I'm pretty sure imdb isn't a reliable source.

yeah when it comes to casting news, but ive find that whenever it comes to the technical jargon, they are usually correct.
I dug up David Keighley's interview with collider and he indeed said it was to be shot IMAX but isn't actually sure how much will it be in IMAX he just said there will be more IMAX shots than TDK.

Confirms The Dark Knight Rises will also be in IMAX. Says “many more minutes” should be in IMAX. The Dark Knight had 28 minutes in IMAX.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing more IMAX in TDKR, it added so much atmosphere. I'm guessing since TDK was sort of a test for IMAX (for Nolan) then it will be easier this time around.

shooting in IMAX destroys this horrible 3D trend any day.

I highly doubt it since The Hobbit is shooting in 3D with 48 FPS which will definitely bring back people into 3D (mostly because it will fix the blur of 3D), I actually like viewing some of the movies in 3D and in IMAX. Both have something special..a gimmick if you will that bring in audiences.

^ Maybe his question was not something stated in the press release like when or where they start filming so JGL chose to keep quiet )for his own protection).

Did he even say what his question was?

Did he even say what his question was?
Nope, I'm sure the interview will be posted soon though. I think it was at a press event for JGL's new movie "Hesher".

One of these days, these reporters are gonna ask one of the actors something about their character or the story of this movie, and the actor is gonna pull a folded piece of paper out of their pocket, unfold it, and read it.

It'll be a very safe, direct, VERY vague description. On par with what we got about the Marion's and JGL's characters in the press release.

On the front of that paper will say "Read in case of Reporter. -CN"

I seem to remember Wally saying they were going to shoot MORE of the film in IMAX than they did in TDK. But with film restrictions from the IMAX cameras the technology is just too big/noisy/expensive right now to be effective for the whole movie.

But it won't be like TDK where like like 5 scenes were IMAX. Most likely ALL the action scenes will be in IMAX - where as in TDK they weren't.

.... does anyone else get jazzed thinking about the fact that Bats vs Bane will most likely be one of the IMAX sequences? And Lord knows that Nolan has come a long way from Begins with his fight sequences.

*sigh*

CAN'T FREAKING WAIT.
