I just don't want Bane pushed to the side, or relegated to henchman status. He needs to be the primary villain, or not be in it at all.

But nothing has been confirmed. Most people thought it would be there in the Dark Knight. We have no idea how much time passes between TDK and TDKR, so you cannot say a cave or mansion will be in the next film. Nothing is certain until Nolan says so.

Ummmm. I think I'm gonna have agree to disagree here. So they've mentioned the reconstruction of the Batcave and the mansion in both films and....then Nolan will decide NOT show it for the final film? Some
'beeping' tease that would be. Of course they'll have to include them in. If not, then it's foolish on Nolan's part.

Personally, I cannot fathom Nolan finishing this series without returning to Wayne Manor and the Batcave.

Neither can I, but nothing is confirmed. And people are acting as if the film will return no matter what. You never know.

Why must Talia be solo? Why stop there I ask! Why not also have Liam Neeson return, Talia can dunk him in the lazarus pit. Nevermind the fact that the train he was on blew up therefore has probably no remains. All Talia needs is a piece of his hair or DNA and the rest of him can regenerate. Let's do it!
Psht. Not realistic enough! Neeson's Ra's was just one of many, anyway. Talia's the daughter of them all because all 500,000 ninjas signed paperwork to officially adopt her, so that's how Nolan gets past the trouble of her being Ra's' daughter. In this new movie, we find out that the falafel guy is the new head honcho Ra's and that he distributes Venom to all the criminals in the city through his falafel in order to help Bane wear Batman down. Also, Talia kidnaps Alfred and tortures him by making him put suntan lotion on scantily clad Russian ballerinas.

@air, you're insisting on something that is bit of a given. Or rather, the obvious.

So you are disagreeing with nothing be confirmed by providing evidence that doesn't confirm anything? The Joker said he was destined to do this forever with Batman and he won't be showing up in the next film (of course this is subject to Heath's unfortunate death). But there are lots of references you can make.

I would be totally surprised if we don't see Wayne Manor or the BatCave in TDKR. But you never know, maybe the film spends a lot of time internationally and Batman just continues to use his bunker. I don't think either would be essential to a film, just an awesome add-in.

If they weren't going to have the manor and the cave return, why bother with the line about improving the cave at the end of Begins? And the line in TDK about, "It'll be nice when Wayne Manor's rebuilt..." I mean, Nolan might as well have had the characters say, "Expect to see these things in a future movie!" :oldrazz: They were pretty obvious references of things to come. Not having them would be like not having the Joker in TDK after the buildup to him at the end of Begins.

Its funny how people said the same thing about having the mansion and Batcave in TDK before we knew anything about the film. Same thing is happening once again (although I think it is much more likely it will show up here than I did TDK).

Venom in the falafel!?

Goyer is that you?:wow::wow:

Batman: Gordon, I thought you said there was a homicidal maniac with a taste for the theatrics leaving his calling card.

Gordon: Oh nevermind, that was nothing. Just some nut...we caught him last week.

Batman: So no Joker?

Gordon: Nope.

*Batman angrily swoops off roof, TDK cuts to credits*

If Talia does end up in the movie, and Selina ends up being the offspring of Carmine Falcone, maybe Nolan is doing a "sins of the father" type thing - Talia continues and succumbs to the evil of her father, while Selina rises above it?"

Eh.

There will be a cave and manor, calm down people...

*I was just wandering around on numerous Producers' pages and came across some info on Charles Roven;

2008 - Get Smart (Anne Hathaway)
2005 - The Brothers Grimm (Heath Ledger)

Since Roven is a pretty hands on Producer and is very good friends with Nolan I wonder if he was "scouting" actor ideas for Nolan while he was producing these other works...?

Please. PLEASE. Enough with Talia.

What is with this annoying obsession with "bringing this movie full circle" with Begins?

Why? Why does it need to come "full circle?" And even if it DID need to come full circle, why THAT circle?

Why revisit the League and the Al Ghuls? Why not just have Bruce accept his role as Batman in a city gone mad after he rose from his defeat at Bane's hands to defeat him and reclaim the city?

Enough already.

@SAG
• So, Batman to Superman, what is Bale's reaction to Henry Cavill's casting in the Christopher Nolan-produced Man of Steel movie? None. He stares kinda blankly at a reporter for a beat or two, clearly having never, ever heard of Cavill. Finally, he summons a blurb you can be assured will not appear on a DVD box anytime soon, "Well done for whoever you mentioned."

If they weren't going to have the manor and the cave return, why bother with the line about improving the cave at the end of Begins?

So that we can see that Bruce is going to continue with his crusade and rebuild what he's lost, without accepting defeat?

So that fans know that the future Batman they expect has indeed been set on the path we know he will take?

So that if Nolan later decides he wants to have the cave/manor in the next film (TDK or TDKR), he's already laid the ground work?

I think the cave at least will probably be in the movie - but the dialogue in "Batman Begins" doesn't mean Nolan has to use the cave and/or manor, or that he will. If he doesn't, I don't think it'll be odd or out of place.

Ok, why you gotta go bringing FalafelGuy into this?

Is it really necessary to drag his name in the mud?

He has kids to feed!

Jett confirmed he was just speculating and talking with a friend over the Hugo Strange news...

Absolutely nothing. All I was doing was thinking out loud after a chat I had with an industry friend of mine. I’ve made no secret that 1) I’d LOVE it if Robin Williams finally got his wish and was cast in a Batman film, and, 2) I’d also love to see the character of Hugo Strange included in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Put those 2 together things together and, “RW as Strange? Hmm…..”

That’s it.

I’m flattered that all these outlets think that one of my Tweets is a story, but really, they’re all making a mountain out of very small anthill. If I knew that Hugo Strange was in the film for a fact -- as well as Robin Williams portraying the character -- I wouldn’t say anything about it anywhere."

As opposed to making things come full circle with Selina illegitimately being related to Falcone and playing a role in her motivation?
It's no different. :whatever:

And it's just as ridiculous.

Don't get me wrong, there's no reason there can't be a connection between Selina and the mob (take a cue from Huntress, even). But to make it a huge plot point that she's specifically Falcone's daughter (and to claim that as part of "making things come full circle") is over the top. This isn't a Catwoman movie.

No it hasn't. Thank you, kvz5.

Filming starts in May. Straight from Nolan's mouth.

Christopher Nolan talked about the third installment of his Batman series, The Dark Knight Rises, at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival where he was presented with the Modern Master Award for Inception on Sunday night.

ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype attended the event and sat in on the tribute to the director at the Arlington Theatre in downtown Santa Barbara where Nolan said he saw Aliens years ago.

We listened in as moderator Pete Hammond asked where he got the title from and Nolan joked, "I banged my head against the wall."

The audience laughed and then Nolan went on to say, "We've worked on it a long time - David Goyer and myself. We're about 12 weeks away from shooting. We start in May."

It's been known that Nolan wasn't sure if he was going to do another film or not, so when Hammond asked why he decided to do a third one, he simply said, "It was about finishing the story."

Nolan still wouldn't confirm whether Anne Hathaway would play Catwoman or just Selina Kyle. When asked, he smiled coyly and wouldn't say a word.

The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled to open in theaters on July 20, 2012.

At the same time Nolan will be directing The Dark Knight Rises, he and his wife/producing partner Emma Thomas will also be working on the new Zack Snyder-directed Superman film, which will star the newly-announced Henry Cavill and hits theaters in December of 2012.
No love for Jonah?

The coy smile had better mean Selina Kyle and Catwoman.

And I swear, the next person who interviews him had better ask about the Hugo Strange / Talia rumors, as futile as those questions may be.

At least we could see his reaction.
