For a second there I thought you were serious lol

Thats whats scary about these boards. There ARE people on here who'd say such things. My quote in Doc Holliday's signature was taken seriously and I was stunned...and then I realized some people were ACTUALLY that picky. This is dangerous place for a sarcastic guy like me.

Haters gonna hate

its part of life.
I'm a little curious as to why someone could outright hate Nolan's guts. I think Michael Bay is a joke when it comes to storytelling, but I don't hate his guts. In fact, I think he is kind of awesome but being unapologetically Bay.

Nolan must have ran over his dog multiple times or something. :funny:

Overall, I was disappointed with the trailer. It wasn't particularly edited well and it seemed like they threw a bunch of clips together and called it a trailer. So far I have to say, I'm not a fan of the viral marketing.

The only director I hate is James Cameron and that is because he personally called me an ******* when I had the chance to meet him at the airport. Seriously, he's a ****ing dick.

That football sequence looks like something out of a Nike commercial:

Player turns around: nothing but destruction in his wake. Player smiles wickedly.

CUT TO:

BLACK SCREEN

NARRATOR (V.O.): Leave your competitors in the dust.

NIKE LOGO FADES IN

NARRATOR (V.O.): Nike.

Okay I laughed.

Ok, it wasnt a swipe. Most of Hollywood is propaganda. And this argument stops here from my side because there is no way to win an argument with individuals who cannot explain at what point life begins and condone infanticide while spewing garbage from their mouths about human rights. I conceed, you win.
Now back to Batman.
I really like that shot of Batman on the stairs with Batman waiting for Bane.

Yes, quite. Nevermind the tax-cuts and Iraq War that saved America from tyranny. :o

Yes, I win...

I kinda hate Bay for how the actors say he treats people, but I've never met him so I can't be sure.

Same with Uwe Boll.

You should have Terminated him. :awesome:

Keep in mind that most of the film isn't even done yet. Alot of post-production is still in the works. I kinda felt the same way too but I have to keep in mind that the film just wrapped up filming a few weeks ago. There is still months of post that needs to be done to most scenes. They had to go with what they had this time around and it was still pretty bad ass.

Seriously? Why did he do that?

I can't judge the trailer. The only one I've seen has been an awful quality bootleg. But it does seem to be going for atmosphere over sound, which is a plus for me.

Who said they hated Nolan? What did I miss?

Your answer is here:

Don't post much anymore. Trying to get back into it, so I'll keep this short and to the point.

1. I hate Nolan and company. Hate em like I hate that burning sensation.

2. Nolan's ability to get away with butchering characters I grew up with for the sake of realizing his own selfish vision of what he thinks the characters "should be" because you people think he's some sort of revolutionary thinker and therefore deserves a free pass for his genius, SICKENS me to NO end.

3. I hate most of you for not calling him on his ******** when given EVERY opportunity in the world (like literally every 5 minutes in The Dark Knight) like ALL the time.

With all that being said..........That trailer might have just sold me on spending money to see this thing....Even tho, If I didn't know any better, after the first minute and about fifteen seconds of the trailer I'd never be able to recognize this **** as being a film with anything to do with BATMAN. Trailer was THAT well put together. And I saw the bootleg .

P.S. - It is true that Nolan and co. don't appear to be the biggest fans of having a multitude of minorities in their Bat universe, what with all the whitewashing, and complete obliteration of all minority characters (sans Fox) who's roles had any real significance..............That being said, I must protest the idea that Nolan is somehow "pushing his right wing agenda" on us. And that's coming from someone who hates the guys guts. Really hates him.

Humbug,
Ibn

Funny, you and your friend didn't like it... yet everyone here is gushing over the lq version :oldrazz:

I don't believe that Nolan is pushing right wing agenda, or that Bruce Wayne/ Batman is a republican or that batman represents the rich people's community of the world.

What nonsense.

Nolan is going to touch on the problems facing America at this time. TDK didn't condone torture, wiretapping or anything the Bush Administration particularly did. It just explored the moral and societal ramifications of them in a more abstract sense.

The idea of social unrest in a time of economic strife is very universal and it seems he is pulling from elements of the London riots, G20 riots, the Tea Party movement and even, possibly, OWS (though it was already shooting when that started, so it is probably a happy coincidence). Bane is a demogauge (Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh or Keith Olbermann and Ed Schultz both can have that applied), but an extremely dangerous comic book-y one who is manipulating the rightfully disenfranchised into doing very bad things. That's my take.

Go to the "Cutlural Subtext" thread where all this is already being extensively discussed.

lol that guy talks about Nolan like he committed a crime or something. Overly dramatic much?

One page back. I don't think he actually meant HATE. I think he just hates Nolan's Batman trilogy and all the praise it gets. Yet he used this as a lead-in to how he feels about this trailer... he actually liked it. That's pretty impressive in my opinion. We know the "Nolanites" are gonna love the trailer. They would love it if it was a 6 second clip of Nolan farting into plastic cup and then drinking it. But the fact that this guy was swayed by the trailer... that just speaks volumes.

:funny: Well yeah, I can give people like Cameron and Bay the side-eye because both have huge reputations for being total *****. But their reputations also means that you know what you're going to get when you sign up for his films. :o

No idea about Uwe Boll, is he the same way for his crappy films?

The Spike Awards were on Spike.

Yes, the Green Lantern won the award last year... so did The Dark Knight and Inception.
Indeed, however the point being they are hardly "The GA" and that's who matter.

2008 had The Incredible Hulk, Ironman, and The Dark Knight.

2012 will have The Amazing Spiderman, The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises.
Not quite
2008

vs
2012

2008 proved to be laden with mines(bombs) whereas 2012 could be the same thing but as of this very moment it looks a lot more promising. At lot more promising that people will at least have something else to talk about during the summer. (especially that Alien prequel) And I already know Spidey 3D is going to be a lot more present than marvel studio's:whatever: hulk.

Moreover there will be some films that have some interest in the weeks post bats this time too.

Eh, not too confident anymore. The recent trailer really defused my anticipation for The Avengers. It appeared a bit too generic.
It's got it's audience. Like you said Buzz is already a flutter and that means something right.
