ok i understand nowThe way I hear it is.
70MM IMAX (Or whatever the film is) Gets the prologue with MI4.
DIGITAL IMAX Gets the theatrical trailer with MI4
Sherlock Holmes gets the theatrical trailer everywhere.
And I'm not sure about IMAX Sherlock Holmes.
But if a theater played the teaser than that sucks lol. Because I don't believe that was suppose to play anywhere.
Seeing the trailer as a bootleg, and then seeing it for real on the big screen before Sherlock Holmes tonight, was like apples and oranges. "Apples and oranges" doesn't even properly describe it because they're both fruit and that implies similarity ... It was like apples and rusty nails.
Seriously, this trailer is incredible. And to top it off, my theater got bland, bloated, over-budgeted trailers for Battleship, John Carter, Men In Black 3, Jack the Giant Killer ... and then TDKR. The audience went ballistic. The applause was actually deafening.
2012 (and beyond), for me, isn't looking so hot, aside from TDKR. This is the movie event of the year, hell, maybe the decade. That's the distinct impression I got from my audience. My theater seemed like, "Awwwww ****, Batman. THAT'S the one to see!!!"
Every movie being released looks bloated and similar, and it's all morphed together into one big ******ed movie. John Carter looks like Avatar with green people instead of blue people. Battleship looks likes Transformers.
I think the audience was reminded (and I was refreshed to see that they knew) that Christopher Nolan is a rarity in this era of filmmaking, and we are not taking him for granted. I am so grateful for this director. I am a die-hard Nolan fanboy. I am not ashamed. I am not embarrassed. I don't care what anyone ever says. This is my guy.

ok i understand now

) but Rocketman, those are my thoughts EXACTLY. At this point, I bet even Disney is surprised by how no one is responding to The Avengers. I say "responding", because in my personal experiences, I'll mention that movie to people I know (nerds), and they go, "Huh? What's Avengers?" And then I remind them and they go, "Oh. That's right." *shrugs* - It just seems incredibly generic. Plus, for a project that big and ambitious, they needed better people in charge of it. Plus, it feels like Iron Man 3. I don't know. I was expecting it to be one of my highlights of next year, and I'm debating whether I'll even see it in the theater.
ohhh come on. lol. I will mos def see it in theaters. I'm just not as hyped for it as I thought I would be. I really just wanna' see Loki and what The Ruffman does with Hulk.
Exactly. That's pretty much everyone.
Same with Spider-Man. I'm not jumping for joy for that either.
Did the new Avengers trailer even come out yet? I thought there was one going to be on Disney or something?? I've been caught up here for so many days I have lost track of all other things.
I can't wait for the new Spidey flick. I'm really excited.
I'm not trying to start a war of words here, but it goes without saying that there is much more hype surrounding the trailer for the TDKR trailer (and the movie itself) than there was for the trailer for The Avengers (and that movie itself), the latter containing several popular superheroes and the former containing only ONE.
Batman over everything.
If the Avengers just goes fo rpure action over story, it may win the box office for the summer. Why? Because little kids and younger teens may prefer that to Nolan angst.
