The Dark Knight Rises The Dark Knight Rises Trailer Thread - Part 2

Maybe it means Tuesday for the UK and similar time zones.

Just like the fact that Ra's Al Ghul died on that train: Up until we learned that TDKR is set 8 years after TDK, I advocated that Nolan never made Ra's mortal. He just didn't blatantly say he's immortal and, should TDKR finish with Batman still fighting the good fight, we could assume he'd come back. Now that this is thrown out of the window (speculation), I can say that Nolan's been more unfaithful in his portrayal of Ra's than in his portrayal of Scarecrow.

But does it ruin Nicholson's version for you? Now that you know?

I think it all depends on the preconceived idea. For example, if I thought Jokers much older than Batman then a much older than Batman Joker was a norm for me and I got used to that for decades the change so late wont really mean anything. Its always largely about personal perspective

Mooki, I strongly suggest you edit your post, unless you want to get temp-banned.

Of course

@Cyborg Ninja:

Purely conjecture on your part, as well.

There's no denying that TDK was a stellar film, however, claiming that TDKR won't top TDK simply because you harbor hatred for Bane sounds like a personal opinion rather than a fact.

Sure it's an opinion, but let's not go the route of "My opinion is better than your opinion," which you seem to enjoy doing.

Again, you seem like a sleeper agent for WB, just collecting checks for openly promoting Bane.

No disrespect to anyone but Nolan's ruined the National Anthem for me. Anytime I hear it now, I'm going to think Bane's around the corner....

It's just used so effectively in the trailer.

Aaaaaaand that's why a 30-year-old Scarecrow doesn't take anything from the character, imo. :woot:

Yeah, I mean I never thought Nolan would use Bane (and I was also a bit against him, tbh), but it's all about the themes and the context. If Nolan has found a way to use him effectively, why the heck not, I say.

Sure, I understand. I, myself, was against a few characters such as The Penguin or The Riddler to be the lead villain of Nolan's final arc, but it was purely based in the sense following The Joker. I wouldn't have minded if Nolan had selected/utilized one or both for the first installment or the second, for that matter, but the finale needed a villain that presented Batman and Gotham with a unique and distinct threat.

So funny to see these people who openly do not like Bane and think this movie will be crap keep coming in here to try to reassure us the movie is going to suck. Pathetic if you ask me. Haha, prob wanted Riddler to be the villain.
I for one wasn't a huge fan of Bane in the comics, but after seeing the prologue and the trailer and I am really stoked about him being the last villain, the physical challenge. And I think his voice sounds killer. Way better that the stereotypical gutteral deep ape man voice it seems some people wanted.

Which I'm doing?

That's funny... considering I never implied that logic. In fact, I haven't made that statement once. Check my history.

I responded to a comment from the 'Nolan's Fans' board regarding the criticism of TDKR's trailer. It was my opinion and my right to criticize their criticism.

TDKR trailer had similar elements from TDK's trailer, so imagine my surprise when a few hyperbolic and/or bitter fanboys basically stated that this trailer was multifarious to decipher, and WB's only agenda was to promote Tom Hardy, and failed (apparently).

Yes, all the sudden, I'm the optimist. :o

Looking at it again. It looks like the people dropping down into the well/prison towards the end of the trailer are wearing Arabian/Middle-Eastern-type clothing.

Stay classy with your Anne Hathawayism. That's one way to make people take you seriously.

saw first half of the bootleg (gave up on watching it due to the crap quality). I'm excited to see it in the theatre tonight, if only I can convince my gf to watch either sh2 or mi4 instead of friggin new year's eve the movie.

was able to convince her to take a 1 hour drive with me to see the prologue though ...

And people take you seriously? I'm still trying to figure out why you come here, besides trying to stir things up from your parents basement.

You know, I actually kind of wish I were a plant. Then I'd get money, and then I might actually win a goddamn bid on Ebay for an Xbox.

That was a mind-blowing counter argumentative point, just astonishing really. Your intellectual and debate skills are truly the pinnacle of humanity's, and are clearly unmatched. :o

Stay menial Cyborg.
