DC Films The DC Studios News and Discussion Thread

so 2023 is the Year that the Old DC Universe say Goodbye 2024 will have a Joker Movie and then for 2025 what? The Batman 2 maybe but that only will be One Movie i think the New Superman Movie will came out in 2025 or 2026 i think it is more realistic that it comes out in 2026 the most earliest date with luck for the end of 2025

It seems odd that rather than have an absolute cut-off point where they cease the old and bring in the new, some old stuff might linger and blur the lines. Obviously we don't know yet, but with the speculation and rumour about some current versions of characters staying (Robbie, Cena), others definitely being gone (Cavill, Johnson), and of course with others uncertain (Gadot, Momoa, Levi), we need those announcements!

All I can say is as bad as people feel right now about the DCU, I'd bring the tease sooner rather than later.

And bring some big announcements.
I really hope it's not a letdown. That's the last thing it needs.

People are so impatient when it comes to their favourite franchises, especially with DC. The last time the studio rushed things with big time announcements and fast tracked a cinematic universe, it ended up being a disaster. I'm not saying that this won't happen here, but taking their time until they are more certain of some sort of a plan and what to reveal is certainly the right approach.

Which one was worst? WB's DCEU or Universal's Monster Universe?

To my knowledge, Gunn merely implied that it wouldn't be announced on/earlier than 1/14 (assuming these are the tweets SC was referring to). He didn't say anything specific about this week, though.

Maybe I missed some tweets or whatever (I don't really use social media), but right now, I think a lot of people are expecting way too much from this "slate announcement" and setting themselves up for a disappointment. I'm pretty sure we won't get anything more than a confirmation of the new Superman movie and maybe a word about another film. That's it. I don't think we'll even hear anything about directors or cast...
With Shazam 2, The Flash and Aquaman 2 to occupy the entire year, I imagine WB won't make too much noise about this reboot until all those movies are out. When it appears that most people have forgotten how to enjoy a movie if it's not connected to a larger whole, it may be best to keep it quiet about the fact that everything is about to start again soon.

Also, maybe it's just me, but the more I hear from Gunn, the less I feel like anything has been truly set yet. And frankly, it makes sense. He and Safran officially got the job less than three months ago, and there was the holiday season in the middle of it, so...

And Blue Beetle, too.

I wish the Flash Movie Ends with Flash Running and Creating the New Universe similar how happen in Justice League Dark Apokolips War or Flashpoint but i dont think it will happen since Aquaman 2 and Blue Beetle will come out after the Flash Movie i think that originally the Reboot was not planned at least not in a Short Time and that they were going to continue with the Original DC Universe but now that there will be a Reboot they got into trouble if i was the Boss i would cancel Shazam 2 Aquaman 2 and Blue Beetle since they will no longer be relevant to the New DC Universe the Old DC Universe should end with the Flash Movie and make a Flashpoint the Story practically writes itself i dont know why they still want the Other Movies to still come out in the Theaters the Audience will dont longer care about that Movies that much anymore

Big grain of salt, but Chris pratt may? be coming to the DCU.
Perhaps as Hal Jordan.
Again, huge mountain of salt.

That's Daniela Melchior, right? When the reboot rumors started, I immediately thought of her for WW. She's a pretty decent choice imo.
