DC Films The DC Studios News and Discussion Thread

I'd much rather see Giancarlo as J'onn J'onzz than Brainiac tbh.

It's interesting because the tweet I had read yesterday where he mentioned at the con he's been talking to Gunn, ALSO mentioned he told Gunn he was more interested in playing a hero this time around than a villain. Dunno if he actually said that at the con or not.

Blue Beetle was a blast. That is all.

I see James Gunn is getting in trouble for old social media posts again. You’d think he learned to delete everything after he got fired

I wouldn’t call that trouble, at all lol the people still running w that as some blasphemous offense are exactly who you think they are. It doesn’t matter.

Him having goofy and exaggerated negative takes 15 years ago on films that were already 20 years old is nothing. Should he have deleted everything? Sure. But there’s nothing wrong with saying he doesn’t like some films.

Oh god, the cults desperate attempts to knock gunn by literally going through his facebook account...going 11 years back, reached us here too?

Insane how pathetic some have become...utterly pathetic.
The Man changed so much in the last 10 years, wouldnt surprise me if he is far more favorable towards the Keaton movies.
Like, i disliked certain things too 10-12 years but by now like some of the stuff.
A lot of us are looking at Batman Forever far more favorable than when it came out etc.

Gunns not allowed to do that too according to some?
Absolutely pathetic and that we let ourself get dragged into the Cults nonsense, is super messed up.

Interesting question, what should DC films do to regain the trust of the audience? Because it seems like DC as a film brand is in the toilet at the moment.

Crazy, isn't it. From the highs of TDKT - both commercially and critically - to... this.
They’ve reached various high points with Batman multiple times. Establishing a universe beyond the big guns has been the tough part despite successes here and there, just not enough consistency.

It will be interesting to see what Aquaman 2 does at the box office over the holidays. It has no competition and the Wan/Mamoa pairing does well overseas. Hopefully the trailer pops.

Just worried they didn’t let Wan do what he wanted on this, plus the DCEU dying off in between films. Otherwise I would have expected big numbers for this and I enjoyed the first film.

Oh so for that they have the money, but not to pay their writers and actors?
(Yes, this should stand under every tweet or news or so that involves these companies until they pay these people fair)

Shows that they do seem to have a immense level of faith in this future.
2027, 2 years into the new DCU...crazy to think.

Great news for the writers and good for fans to get the news cycle back when things settle down.

By extension, wouldn't Peacemaker have to be canon? It's getting a second season, Gunn said, but if it is, does that make that first season non-canon? Not to mention Waller being spun out of Peacemaker, too. Or if there's a second season, would that and Waller just ignore the events of Peacemaker's first season?

These timelines are so confusing.

Seems that the more Gunn tries to clarify the more he ends up further confusing people, lol.
