DC Films The DC Studios News and Discussion Thread

Any Marvel/DC beefs only exist in the minds of the fans, but it would be extremely funny for Gunn to just start tweeting a series of ten second videos of random chairs right now.
And Ryan Reynolds lol

The released cast list for Avengers: Doomsday just feels...desperate. Bringing back Patrick Stewart and and Ian McKellen? They can't even make their own version of the X-Men they need a 25 year old version with guys that likely wont be able to do very many future films? On top of RDJ as Dr. Doom?

I am glad we don't have this kind of stuff (yet) in the DCU.

Yet. Give it time. The closest might be the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover on the CW, but difference was it being on television, and many of the surprise appearances like Lucifer and Ezra Miller's Flash weren't announced. We haven't been too far removed from the DCEU and if the DCU does try some sort of Crisis event, I could see DC Studios trying something similar.

But Gunn would probably just drop a poster with all of the cast members, like he did with The Suicide Squad.

I really don’t think we’re going down the multiverse road anytime soon with the DCU. As a matter of fact, I feel like Gunn’s hiring put an end (or at least a significant delay) to that altogether, considering Hamada seemed to be building toward a Crisis project (and then, of course, we all saw how things went for The Flash).

I don’t begrudge Marvel, though. They’re seeing their Multiverse Saga through to the finish line, and that affords them the opportunity to give the FOX X-Men era the kind of grand finale they were never given before. Obviously the old cast (the youngest of whom is in his fifties) isn’t there to take the X-Men into the future.

They were in Days of Futures Past which is maybe the best of the X-Men films.

I know it is coming...I just am not gonna worry about it until it does.

I really need someone to spoof this because I didn’t watch any of it but it sounds hilarious.
Honestly, that's the sort of move that Ryan Reynolds would do. I can't share the letter because of an F-bomb in it, his spoof letter of the #ThanosDemandsYourSilence letter about Infinity War was great.

So I could easily see him just making a video with a bunch of chairs that all just say "Wade Wilson."

fox x-men have gotten like 10 grand finales already. what is this revisionism lol

Yeah, DOFP is the only one I would consider their “grand finale” moment, and that was quickly undone by a weak sequel and Mangold deciding Xavier killed everyone during an episode of his.

Logan qualifies only for Jackman and Stewart and, well… obviously that didn’t last long.

Imagine telling mcu fans 15 years ago that this was all building towards a love letter for the X-Men movies mcu fans famously hated until disney owned them.

The same thing can be applied when it comes to Sony's Spider-Man movies and Netflix's Marvel Television series.

The good outweighs the bad for me with the X-Men; it’s mostly just sloppy continuity and missed opportunities so I’ll gladly watch them take another swing at a send-off for those characters. I can’t let Ryan Reynolds be the one to give us the final say on those stories.

I never saw the sequel :eheh: And I consider Logan an Elseworlds :o

I don’t believe it’s the full cast list.

Well obviously there is people missing...doesn't change my point.

This is ain't the Avengers thread.

I wonder what we'll get first, the special look at the Minecraft premiere or the potential trailer April 1st. I personally think cinemacon con will get an extended look and the new trailer. Then we get the trailer on April 18th Superman day.
