So, yeah... Levi is staying.

Pointless. Why get rid of Cavill, if you're still going to continue with other characters from that continuity? There's no argument to keep Levi, and dump Cavill.

They must be recasting everything.

So everyone is being recast then, which is the right thing to do when you reboot

While I understand that the Snyderfans and other fans were disappointed about Henry's exit from the role (and how it was handled), this need to rewrite history and make Henry and his Superman more popular than he actually was and pretend that it is this massive mistake to let him go, as if he was RDJ Iron Man levels of popular, is really embarrassing. Be angry and disappointed, but don't act like the mass audience is going to care.

It's a Cuuuult!

What's funny is some of the same people acting mad about Cavill's exit were mad at him for the Black Adam cameo and how it was disrespectful to Zack Snyder because the suit wasn't black, he had the spit curl and used to Williams theme.

Those people were never going to be happy with any outcome. Even if Henry got his solo movie, they were going to be mad that it wasnt Snyder and Henry's Superman is acting different than he did in MOS-BvS-JL.

I'm one of the few Snyder fans that was happy to move away from him and have another creative take Henry in a brand new direction but its all good. I was admittedly upset about his firing myself but I'm getting over it and just anxious to see what Gunn is going to give us. It'll be good to have Superman have a clean slate with fans and audiences.

The Avengers too, as hard as it is for some folks to believe right now.
It seems to be when characters receive their first big interpretation that people think the actors are irreplaceable. I remember back when Connery quit as Bond. People were seriously saying 'That's it, Bond's finished without Connery. There'll be no more', but of course that wasn't true. And in time there'll be another Tony Stark, another Steve Rogers, etc. The only possible exception I can see is where a character was basically created around the actor playing them, such as Johnny Depp/Jack Sparrow.

Yeah, like I can see this also being applied to Indiana Jones, since we've had Harrison Ford in the role for over 40 years now, but...you never know. I could see an Indy reboot happening some day, easily.

These roles are meant to passed down from generation to generation .

Christopher Reeve said that he considered himself a temporary custodian of the Superman role, while he had it.

That's what I think of every actor who's donned the Batman and Zorro cowls, put on the Red S, put on the tux as Bond, etc.

I know there are fans nowadays who don't like the idea of recasts , but for me , it's a positive thing to see these characters carry on after an actor or actress has vacated the role.

It doesn't end just because an actor leaves the role.
The mantle goes on to the next actor or next generation , and then they do their own thing with it.

Never realized how small the opening for Bale's cowl was.

If he was that popular, then the movies would have made more money

Well, I think we just saw a prime example of an actor's popularity not equating to box office but...I know what you mean ;)
