DC Films The DC Studios News and Discussion Thread

Holy hell they were selling for 1,700 and only 500 were made and now selling for 2 to 3 times now

Further proof (not that it was needed) that we're in great hands!

I feel good about Gunn after Superman, but I like villain Max Lord. Brother Eye was a great storyline, and would’ve made a great foundation for a JL movie. Still wish we could’ve seen Justice League Mortal.

You can have anyone corrupt Brother Eye...turning Max heel (while a storyline I enjoyed) was in retrospect not important. Plus it made no sense in the context of what the character actually was. The only reason they did it was because of who they were killing to start Infinite Crisis.

Its like turning Doctor Light into a maniac rapist in Identity Crisis. That is just never who he was and to retcon him that way and then mindwipe Batman cause he would have never allowed them to mindwipe Light was just bananas and edgy for the sake of being edgy.

Gunn hating that and thin Amanda Waller is some serious geek cred. (hell even knowing about it is serious geek cred)

Gunn may not be a fan of thin Waller but he still doesn't get the character sadly.

I think the story works better with Ra's Al Ghul (like in the Justice League comic that script was based on) or Vandal Savage. Max Lord doesn't have the same sauce as a villain that the other two do.

I can just imagine that pitch.

'Yes, Clooney killed Batman... But don't worry, because we've got... Plastic Man!'

:funny:

I admit that as a character Plastic Man has never done anything for me, but I'm a huge fan of Lillard and I would have definitely seen that movie!

Matthew Lillard is such a great talent. He would’ve killed it!!

Still wish Carrey would’ve done Plastic Man in the late 90s/ 00s
Ah! I was just about to say that, even though I don't know the character very well, I can easily imagine a film in the same vein as 1995's The Mask. Visually stylized, a little dark, with a super-energized hero and cartoonish abilities.
Could be DC Studios version of Deadpool... but less obnoxious please. :o

Idk why I have such a soft spot for Plastic Man. I think a movie could be amazing. John Mulaney is the obvious pick now IMO.

I was born in the early 90s and remember seeing a Fear and Loathing poster as a little kid and thinking it was a Plastic Man movie.

I think Jim Carrey could still do it tbh.

I’m kind of surprised no one’s talking about the talks with Warner brothers and their potential buyout by paramount or Netflix.

Superman and K-pop demon hunters crossover maybe?
