The Dark Knight Rises The End

At some point, people are going to hate simply for the sake of hating. It makes them stand out, which makes people think they're smart and important.

This is why I think tdk debates still go on, four years after the release.

Based on what ?

There is no way this movie will end the way I hope it to, especially because it will be a definitive end. I wasn't thrilled with TDK either after being so amped for it.

Yeah but that was to Gordon, alone. I can't see Batman, standing up on the courthouse steps telling people that they shouldn't harm Bane and that they're better than that.

We have Batman showing up out in broad day light now which is probably uncomfortable for the character, that's fine, but to have him make inspiring speeches, have his identity compromised and possibly retire or give his life for Gotham too? I'm all for pushing boundaries, creating new scenarios for a character, but all this stuff I'm hearing is taking things a little too far. This sort of talk is fine for a character like Superman, but Batman?

Most of this stuff I'm seeing is a bit iffy, pushing Adam "upstanding citizen" West Batman zaniness. I hope most of this speculation is wrong.

There has been several instances in the comics where Batsy made some speeches. I have in mind the O'neil story, "ticket to tragedy". alfref's cousin is tempted to become a nihilist, and Batman argue with him and wants to prove him justice exists.

But I agree, he's not really a speaker. And the fact he's not as preachy as superman makes his speeches even more powerful, because that's not his thing.

But isn't it great to watch a movie who isn't predictable?

Regarding Batman's fate, I don't think Bruce Wayne will be exposed as Batman, at least not until the end of the movie & definitely not by Bane. If you remember the scene where Bruce gets out of his car & limps with his cane to the entrance, there's a few papparazzi there taking pictures of him, (as Bruce is considered somewhat of a vapid celebrity that photographers usually chase after). Since he's limping, obviously the damage Bane did to him was done, and was somewhat recent. However, if it was public knowledge that Bruce got injured fighting Bane as Batman, the "media coverage" would be FAR more than a few papparazzi waiting outside. There would be dozens of cameras and reporters & just regular people on the street trying to get access to him. It's just basic human curiosity.

My guess is Bane initially fights him, beats him to an inch of his life, (no spinal crippling though), discovers Bruce as Batman but uses Bruce as an example to Gotham instead of Batman, (remember, the Dark Knight is already despised and/or forgotten by the general public at that time so Bane has nothing to gain from revealing Bruce is Batman). Then at the midway point, Bruce rises up and defeats bane in their rematch.
