Sue cuddling up to Ben: You know Ben, I've kept it a secret for a while, but I've always had a thing for you.

Ben looks down where his pants should be: You know Susie, I've also kept it a secret for a while, but I don't have one for you. :o

Wow so even Kate Mara has admitted that she still hasn't seen 4stic yet.

I love her interviews..... This puts the whole "Go see it for yourself and then judge" crap into perspective. Better yet it shoots it. Burns it. Puts it in a coffin, lowers it in an unmarked grave, says some final words then covers it in dirt!

I'll continue to watch what I wanna watch and skip whatever common sense tells me is crap! Same as the lead actress in this film.

So let's see, Stan Lee, Miles Teller and Kate Mara have all said they haven't seen it. Makes you wonder if Trank saw it. :funny:

Considering the rumors of her onset treatment by the director maybe that has factored into her decision to not view the film just yet.

Yeah, even if that particular rumor was false, having her character sit on the sideline during the best part begs the question why she would want to go through this particular ordeal again.

I just finished Batman & Robin and I've gotta say, I really do think it's a better movie than the FFINO.

Still haven't seen FFINO. Should be on Redbox in a few weeks.

I'll believe it when I see it. A sequel would be practically guaranteed to lose $100 million or more. I can't even imagine that getting greenlit.

Nah, this is just talk. Filmmakers involved with bombs say this sort of thing all the time. File this sequel away with The Subtle Knife, Battleship 2, John Carter Returns, and The Lone Ranger Rides Again.

Bet the actors can't wait to do another one.

This is another problem. Acting in something that isn't well-reviewed but makes money is one thing, acting in spectacular bombs is a good way to kill a career. Teller and Jordan, in particular, aren't desperate to the point of simply needing the work either. Their careers are on the upswing. They aren't going to want to continue with this disaster.

It depends on what their contracts state...

Normally I'd say all this sequel talk is a bluff until the infamy of FFINO dies down, but with Fox I don't know ... they're so stupid and stubborn I could see them making one.

An FF sequel qualifies more as insanity than stubbornness. Fant4stic 2 could double the BO results of the initial rights grab (which would be extremely difficult to pull off) and still create an enormous loss if the budget - which has to increase - shows even a modest bump.

Zarex you're right but I have to agree with Farren here. After the embarrassment of Daredevil and them letting it go and Marvel turning it into one of the best shows available, I can see them being stupid enough to give it one more try but it's almost a certainty for it to make less than the original.

Maybe FFINO2 would have half the box office results of FFINO. :oldrazz: Maybe it will fail to even make in its total run what FFINO made in its opening weekend. :woot:

Fox will decide that bright, humorous and fun is the way to go with FFINO2, but just before that, there will be a sea change in CBMs and everything will go all grounded and gritty. :o They'll have gotten the tone wrong that people don't want yet again. :o

True, but no director or producer wants actors forced, against their will, to be starring in their film.

If Fox would actually make a sequel starring this cast after what happened this time around, it would be the ugliest, most bizarre thing in film history. I can't even imagine anything that comes close.

. . . which I have to admit makes me morbidly curious to the point I'd almost like to see it happen.

Can you imagine a sequel to a film that was hated by fans and critics that bombed in spectacular fashion being forced on unwilling actors and fans?

We thought things were ugly this time around, just imagine the next few years on this forum if they force a sequel down our throats with Kinberg and the cast still on-board building on the terrible characters, design and story of he first film.

Maybe they won't be able to find a single director who will take it on, and then they'll be forced to go back to Trank. And he will entertain the idea because he won't be working either, and he'll think it will be different this time round.

If Marvel signs off on the proposed X-Men show or a package of shows FOX has the opportunity for a graceful exit from the FF business. "We've decided to focus our efforts on expanding our multi-billion dollar X-Men franchise into television."

I can't see anyone who has ever analyzed a spreadsheet signing off on FFINO 2, so making the best deal possible and moving on would appear to be FOX's only option. We shall see.
